Glass 2019 Movie Trailer Impressions: M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable Trinity Series Concludes

Glass is a 2019 superhero horror-thriller film written, co-produced, and directed by M. Night Shyamalan which stars James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sarah Paulson, Spencer Treat Clark, and Charlayne Woodard; and is slated for a January 2019 US theatrical release. Glass is the direct sequel to the hit 2016 film which also came to a surprise to everyone who saw it, that it was an actual sequel to 2000's Unbreakable. So what is there to say about the Glass official movie trailer? For starters, I was really caught off guard when I watched Split as it set me up for this film and now that the trailer for this film has been released, I have no other reaction but excitement. But then again, I am a sucker for these pop corny super-powered flicks but even before Marvel knew how to handle its thing, Unbreakable was the first to impress me in terms of a superhero flick with a good narrative and a villain.


Now on to what we see in the trailer. What better way to put all these ridiculous super characters in one location but to "institutionalized" them for their bizarre mental conditions. Little did the mental expert know that she is biting more than she could chew. It is going to be interesting how they got into the institution in the first place, the forming of alliance and the ultimate conclusion of this epic bout of superiors.




M. Night Shyamalan who? Well, the guy has been on the bad end of the stick after blunder after blunder of bad films. Maybe this was for the better and hopefully this humbled him to become a much better director or script writer and less the "mindblowing" twist (coughs NOT coughs), OR just play safe and just capitalized on what he has established with Unbreakable and the Sixth Sense. In the age where people flock the theaters for big budget high octane super heroics, a much more serious, grounded but still as fantastical tale of superheroes and villains is probably what need as a palate cleanser.

Deadpool Official Redband Trailer Impressions: Merc With The Mouth World Broadcast Debut on Conan and Internet Explodes

Deadpool is a 20th Century Fox super hero movie directed by Tim Miller with screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick which stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Andre Tricoteux, and Leslie Uggams slated for a February 2016 US theatrical release. Deadpool, the merc with the mouth has been breaking the internet ever since its test footage was intentionally leaked online to gain attention and attention is what it got. So what is there to say about the Deadpool redband trailer? Well, what isn't there to say about the Deadpool redband trailer but it captures the essence of Deadpool or whatever that means. 20th Century Fox make amends from the Deadpool travesty that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine with a more loyal to its source material, the fourth wall breaking foul-mouthed Merc with the mouth. It is a treat to see the story of the well-beloved pop culture character and icon finally realized and properly given justice to. With Ryan Reynolds being a big Deadpool fan himself and the film opting out for a more Mature rating than a PG film. If a Deadpool film want to be taken seriously, it can never be rated under the PG rating.


The trailer which initially debuted in TBS' Conan (Check out the clip here) has gore, violence, and uncensored language that easily alarmed and conservative parents would never let their children watch. But for those who fell in love with the character, whether those who are big comic book fans or just like me who happens to stumble over the character of Deadpool a few years back, this film with its casting and overall feel is looking good for this 2016 Marvel - 20th Century Fox film. This trailer is already enough to build the hype when Deadpool comes to theaters by February 2016 and I'll definitely see it.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Trailer Impression: The CW's Justice Society for DC Television Universe

DC's Legends of Tomorrow or simply Legends of Tomorrow, is 2016 U.S, superhero television series which will be aired on The CW with an unspecified date in 2016. This superhero team-up series is a spin-off from The CW's successful Arrow and The Flash television series existing in the same fictional DC Television universe. Now on to the meaty part! As a big fan of the new contemporary superhero television series, the DC's Legend of Tomorrow first look is simply bad-ass. We know that not everyone will be satisfied with how DC will interpret the beloved DC characters and storyline, and this is why DC is doing it right when they separated the DC Cinematic Universe from the DC Television Universe. Most of those familiar with the DC Comics Universe have expressed that this is the Justice Society made for television which is spot on as the Justice Society and its incarnations are simply various DC superheroes teaming up minus Batman and Superman. Well, for a detailed explanation or break down of what Justice Society is, you can always check the Justice Society on Wikipedia. Who knows they might make an appearance (this is me with a wishful thinking).


The Legends of Tomorrow cast of characters includes Dr. Martin Stein a.k.a Firestorm (played by Victor Garber), Ray Palmer a.k.a The Atom (Brandon Routh), Sara Lance a.k.a. White Canary (Caity Lotz), Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), Kendra Saunders a.k.a. Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), Mick Rory a.k.a. Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Leonard Snart a.k.a Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Vixen, and Vandal Savage appearing as the main antagonist of the season. Well of course Arrow and Flash will be making their appearance on the show but this series will be more focused on it's main protagonists mainly Atom, Firestorm, Hawkgirl, Vixen, Rip Hunter, White Canary, Captain Cold, and Heatwave. Since it is going to be in 2016, the guys at The CW have a lot of time setting up characters like Hawkgirl with its own spin-off series and how Sara Lance formerly known as Black Canary lived to become the White Canary. It gives off an Avenger (movie) feel to it when the Legends goes up against Savage's men. Well it is only natural for an "immortal" super villain mastermind to have minions, right? Why do we need a band of unlikely team if there isn't anyone to pummel? Also The Atom finally shrinks. Will he show it in Flash and Arrow television series is beyond me, but The Atom's original ability form the DC comics universe is to shrink (equibvalent to Marvel's Ant-man). I am also looking forward to see the chemistry and how the varying attitude of the team blends in given that it is a mixture of heroes and villains (referencing the Flash being double-crossed by Captain Cold in the Flash season one television series.)

CBS Supergirl Trailer Impressions: Superman's Cousin Taking over Television

Supergirl is a 2015 U.S. superhero television series set to air on CBS and will debut in November 2015 with Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. CBS Supergirl television series is based from DC Comics character Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino. Kara Zor-El is the biological cousin to Superman and one of the last surviving Kryptonians. Supergirl is another DC Comics superhero television series joining the ranks of The CW's Arrow (2012) and The Flash (2014), Fox's Gotham, and the now defunct NBC's Constantine (2014). Let's check out what CBS has in stor for us with Supergirl this 2015.

CBS Supergirl (2015) Television Trailer Review






So what can we say about the Supergirl First Look Trailer released by CBS this May 13, 2015? To start off it is giving off this lighthearted girl-empowering drama feel to it which is still good in my personal opinion and preference. It seems to be more lighthearted which reminds me a bit of The CW's The Flash in it's earlier part of the season, but will eventually tone down a bit (gearing to a more serious or darker tone) for it to be taken seriously - a standard nowadays when it comes to superhero television series.


I am not that familiar with the Supergirl mythos or her villains. I only know her at some extent with various DC Animated movies released earlier and the Justice League animated series. This is potentially a good show to get audience become familiar with or picque their curiosity with the super heroine. Some things I've noticed is: (1) Superman is heavily referenced in this series which is good because you can't really go on so without; (2) appearance of Jimmy (James) Olsen from the Daily Planet is another Superman reference, which could indicate other characters from the Superman story might appear in the show. Will we see Lois Lane or Lex Luthor here is yet to be see; (3) Her foster sister seems to be associated with the Department of Extra-Normal Operations which could explain how she got exposed to this organization (as seen in other press releases); (4) this trailer is quite a handful and is enough to build hype for the series. I am also liking the humor shown so far in this trailer. It is really shaping up well for the DC Television Universe. It is a good thing that Warner Bros. Television decided to separate the TV Universe (Arrow, Flash, Constantine) from the DC Cinematic Universe which is WAY darker and unforgiving. Now if we can only get to make US Television companies (CBS, Fox, The CW) agree to do more crossover episodes (without compromising the premise of the entire series) then that would be awesome (epic even)! I am hopeful for a good quality Justice League live action television series in the not so far future.

Man of Steel is an upcoming Warner Bros. The success of Christopher Nolan's Batman film series signaled the creation of an even more serious Hollywood take on Superman's story. Summer of 2013 marks the year when will see the Man of Steel fly again. This new Superman film will be under the wing of the same director who brought us 300 and Watchmen, Zack Snyder with the aid of Christopher Nolan as the man behind the story and producer in bringing Comics' Superman originally by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster back to the big screen.

The Man of Steel will be another origin story of one of the most well-known DC Comics superhero of all time, Superman. The trailer for the Man of Steel film looks very promising besides the fact that Nolan and Snyder will be two well-recognized people working behind this 2013 superhero film. A more compelling origin tale of Superman with amazing visuals and hopefully better story, acting and presentation than what we have been presented before with past Superman television series, animated shows, and past films. We here at CMAQUEST are particularly looking forward to what this potential new film series (ala Nolan's Dark Knight series) has in store for us when it hits the theaters on the Summer of 2013.

Marvel's Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United Film Trailer Review

Marvel recently announced in the New York Comic-Con 2012 (NYCC 2012) a new Avengers spin-off movie featuring only The Hulk and Iron Man with Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United. It is very obvious from the trailer that the film uses the likeliness of the Iron Man and the Hulk in the 2012 hit The Avengers live action film. Unfortunately it didn't feature the same actors to voice Hulk and Iron man, but it is just a minor set back for this cell-shaded animated film.

Although there hasn't been any official plot revealed, it doesn't take a genius to come up one thanks to this trailer. Iron Man's facilities has been compromised and it is up to him and the Hulk to control the situation caused by an infiltration of one of Iron Man's adversaries. Hopefully they can explain as to why the other Avengers are missing in action to justify the team-up. Of course the real threat of this is the Hulk Buster which can stand up against with the Hulk, but we obviously know what will happen on this clash. What we are curious with is how will they get to that epic conclusion. Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United is set to be released on April 2013.

Thor: The Dark World News - Christopher Eccleston to Portray Malekith the Accursed

Christopher Eccleston is confirmed to play as Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, in upcoming 2013 Thor: The Dark World film. This is Super Hero Watch and let's get all the juicy details about the upcoming Thor: The Dark World sequel to 2010's Thor.

Christopher Eccleston, an English actor best known for his role as the ninth incarnation of the Doctor in the British television series Doctor Who. He also appeared in various films like Shallow Grave, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Others, Jude, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. His latest major role is landing the role as Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim in the upcoming 2013 Marvel film Thor: The Dark World. Christopher Eccleston will join Thor: The Dark World (Thor 2) cast of Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Jaimie Alexander, and Rene Russo.

Since one of the upcoming Thor sequel's villain has been revealed, let's get to know the world of the Dark Elves and its ruler, Malekith:

The Dark Elves come from the world of Svartalfheim, one of the Nine Worlds of Norse Mythology.They are ruled over by Malekith the Accursed, and the most powerful amongst their ranks was Algrim the Strong. However, Algrim was betrayed by Malekith in a bid to kill Thor. Algrim was dropped into lava and, though he survived, he was critically wounded. The Beyonder transformed Algrim into the monstrous Kurse, who seemingly kills Malekith for the betrayal...

The trio of Bitterhand, Wormwood, and Grendell serve Malekith loyally and have attempted to destroy Thor on several occasions, including once while Mjolnir was being reforged.

Malekith struck an alliance with Loki on behalf of the fire demon Surtur. He took control of a number of Earth humans using special food of the faerie provided by Hela. Malekith then killed Eric Willis, guardian of the Casket of Ancient Winters, after learning its location.

As Master of the Hounds, Malekith hunted down Roger Willis, Eric's son and new guardian of the Casket. Malekith battled Thor, and kidnapped Lorelei. Using Lorelei as bait, Malekith forced Thor to battle Algrim the Strong, one of his Dark Elf followers, then attempted to destroy both combatants by plunging them into a pool of magma. He then captured the Casket of Ancient Winters from Roger Willis.

Malekith was ultimately defeated by Thor, but not before he destroyed the Casket of Ancient Winters, releasing magical frigid force all over the Earth. Malekith was then brought as a captive by Thor to Asgard. Malekith later disguised Loki as himself to take his place in the dungeon, while he disguised himself as Balder, who was about to be crowned ruler of Asgard. Kurse, the being formerly known as Algrim, saw through Malekith's disguise when he reached Asgard City. Kurse then broke Malekith's neck, apparently slaying him. Years later, Malekith was revealed to be alive once again.

Basing from those information we can now have a general idea of what to expect in Thor: The Dark World. If the 2013 Thor sequel does primary focus on Malekith as its villain, then it is safe to assume that he'll definitely have his loyal followers Bitterhand, Wormwood, and Grendell. Of course, the big screen adaptation will definitely be different from its source material adding elements that will hopefully lead up to the seemingly plausible The Avengers film sequel.

Ultimate Spider-Man or Ultimate Spider-Man The Animated Series is a new American television animated series based on Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's Marvel superhero character (icon) Spider-Man. Ultimate Spider-Man is written and produced by Brian Bendis, a primary architect of the Ultimate Marvel Universe who also launched Ultimate Spider-Man back in 2001, alongside Paul Dini, and Man of Action (Steven T. Seagle, Joe Kelly, Joe Casey, and Duncan Rouleau), creators of the animated series Ben 10 and Generator Rex. With such big names working on this latest reiteration of the Spider-Man animated series, will this Ultimate Spider-Man be the first successful animated series under the Marvel and Disney merger?

Ultimate Spider-Man Television Trailer Review

I may not be the biggest fan of the look of this new Spider-Man animated series, but if there is something that I've learned is that to never judge a book by its cover. The same happened to me with Spectacular Spider-Man. For someone who grew up watching the 90's Spider-Man the Animated series, Spectacular Spider-Man's look was a lot "simpler" compared to its predecessor, but with great story, character build-up and progression, not to mention kick-ass fight scenes and gathering of Spider-Man's villains in one point of the show, Spectacular Spider-Man became one of my one of my favorite modern animated series, sadly it got cancelled. The latest animated series which will premiere on Disney XD on April 1, 2012 (April Fools?) has that same strange look but it still deserve some benefit of doubt. It might have the same epic scope in terms of storytelling like what Spectacular had.

Although I gave it this benefit of doubt, I still can't help but to feel something bad about the series. Maybe it is how this trailer is presented. It is feels too light, so for the kids. Well, I know the adults are not the primary market of such superhero series but kids nowadays aren't that innocent either. They are more intelligent and can understand a more edgier and darker themed animated series. Hopefully the Ultimate Spider-Man has more to offer than its misleading "wholesome" and kid-friendly feel as shown in the trailer. And Disney XD April 1, its like an experiment from Marvel and Disney? Hopefully they won't say in the future when it gets cancelled... "That is exactly why we put it on an April Fools debut, to make a foll out of Spider-Man" or something like that.

The Avengers Extended Super Bowl Trailer Impressions: Avengers Finally Assembled!

The Avengers is a 2012 super hero film from Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures doing its distribution. The much awaited super hero dream film slated for a May 2012 release features an ensemble cast of Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. A 60-min extended first trailer for The Avengers was recently released in Super Bowl and here is what we think of it.

The Avengers Super Bowl Spot Film Trailer Review

Besides being the home for the annual National Football League championships, the Super Bowl is also the prefect venue to market any kind of product. This is where The Avengers made its 30-minute TV Spot debut and was later extended to a full 60 minutes film trailer with the inclusion of a very kick ass trailer finale. Right from the start I will say that The Avengers trailer is freaking awesome.

We finally know what Loki's role in the Avengers film as a leader of an invading alien force. No its not the Skrulls like what I also first assumed back at Captain America. The trailer feature a quick shot of the descending alien forces that Loki might probably lead which looks like Ultron-like robots but there aren't any official confirmation for this. Guess we'll just have to wait for the official full trailer or a much more detailed press release, or we can always just go crazy with waiting and watch it when the film actually hits the theaters.

I noticed some shots of Iron Man and I think the film would feature a new suit, the one shown when he fly up to the alien ship. Then we have Chris Hemsworth's (Thor) toned down body which doesn't look as good as when he was in the Thor movie. I personally am not a big fan of Captain America's new suit though, but guess it is just a little nitpicking on the much awaited super hero film of 2012. We finally have some more action shots of Black Widow and Hawkeye which is okay. I just hope that the film would feature a little more character build up and screen time for Hawkeye and Black Widow. We already have movies movies about most of the Avengers except for the two, (three if you count Nick Fury). I know Hawkeye is not the most popular Avenger, but he is still an integral member of the super hero team. For someone who doesn't know much or read any of Hawkeye's story (comics), I guess a future film about him would be my fix. What is not there to say about The Avengers trailer. It is action packed, kick-ass moments and seemingly superb character interactions.

The Amazing Spider-Man Official Trailer Impressions: The Much Awaited Reboot "Untold" Film Version of Spider-Man's Origin

The Amazing Spider-Man is a super hero action adventure thriller movie title from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Entertainment starring Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors a.k.a. Plot / Synopsis

Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors, his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man Film Trailer Review

The Amazing Spider-Man Official trailer seems to do what fans familiar to the series have always dreamed of, a somewhat loyal to its comics root film adaptation of Spider-Man. Some film fans were a bit skeptic at first when they heard that Hollywood is doing another reboot of the first Spider-Man film franchise (2002-2007) popularized by director Sam Raimi and actors Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson. But after seeing The Amazing Spider-Man official trailer, this second attempt on the spider-Man film franchise is starting to

look pretty rad.

There are certain things to love and hate with the Raimi Trilogy Spider-Man film franchise. Particular things some familiar with the super hero series and critics alike questioned include the major alteration of the original Spider-Man lore: Miscasting characters from Mary Jane Watson being Peter's first love interest rather than Gwen Stacey to Gwen being just another office fling; and the injustice done (debatable) on the Spider-Man villain Venom on the last title in the Raimi's film trilogy. Some aspects that movie goers like on Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy were the various epic action moments of the film, superb character build up for Doctor Octopus, the original Spider-Man costume used in the film, and the actual concept of a Spider-Man film itself. But its 2012, and a different production team is behind that, so what does this new film franchise under Marc Webb has potentially in store for us this Summer of 2012?

Ben Parker is pretty much alive on this Spider-Man film reboot. The Amazing Spider-Man trailer hints that this is more about Peter's mysterious parents, his first year as the masked vigilante (because that is what Spider-Man really is), and his first romantic relationship with Gwen Stacy who happens to be the daughter of the the police out to get Spider-Man. All the elements of a right Spider-Man movie seems to be in this film. I am happy that Hollywood has learned from the mistakes of the first series and started to listen to what fans and film goers might actually like in a spider-Man film. This Spider-Man film is darker and has a more brooding Nolan Batman film feel to it, and I am fine with that. The amazing Spider-Man even pokes fun of the fact that Spider-Man wears a skin tight red and blue suit but still manages to kick some criminal and police butts.

Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2012 reboot's first film villain is The Lizard. Growing up with the 90's Spider-Man the animated series, I can somewhat say that the film probably will stay true to Dr. Curt Connors (The Lizard) character of being a friend and potential mentor to Peter Parker but will later turned savage no thanks to the genetic alteration caused by The Lizard serum. But it seems like they are adding more to Doc Connors character by associating him with Peter's parents who mysteriously left him in the care of his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. To what the connections all are makes The Amazing Spider-Man a must see.

Times are changing, and what people might love r hate with past films might (or might not be) remedied by newer versions. Some films are worth rebooting, while some just need to be left alone, and what of Spider-Man? Well, after seeing this trailer all I can say is that this reboot is very much needed and a welcome addition to the excellent superhero film franchise under Marvel Entertainment.

The Dark Knight Rises Official Trailer Impressions: Christopher Nolan's Batman Ends with the Rising

The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 super hero film from Warner Bros. Pictures which stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway is the third (sequel to 2010's The Dark Knight) and the last Batman film under Christopher Nolan. Christopher Nolan's Batman film series as of this post is said to be the best film adaptation of the popular DC super hero. Plot / Synopsis

Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, following the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for Dent's crimes in order to protect Dent's reputation and is subsequently hunted by the Gotham City Police Department. Batman is forced to resurface when the terrorist leader Bane arrived at Gotham City with plans to destroy the it, and to discover the truth regarding the "enigmatic" Selina Kyle.

All good things must eventually come to an end. The epic finale for Christopher Nolan's Batman is soon at hand and for those who watched the first two films , there will be no doubt that they will see this conclusion. For those who haven't seen the first two films, all I can say is that you are missing out on something very special and I suggest you go watched them first if you are curious with this third Batman film installment.



It is a good trailer for Batman 3 The Dark Knight Rises. It didn't spoil the fans of the DC super hero by showing too much of the villains, heck it didn't even showed you Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman costume and Bane in his juiced up hulking form, if that is not effective teasing for Batman i don't know what is. Then we have the very generic plot as to why Batman must eventually come out. But to what part will Selina Kyle/Catwoman play in all of it is still left to movie goers and fans enthusiastic imagination and this is why this is such a great movie trailer. It is a definite recommendation for CMAQUEST, and we can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises July 2012 release.
