Ash vs. Evil Dead is an upcoming American horror sitcom created by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell set for a Fall 2015 release for the Starz network. Ash vs. Evil Dead is set in the world of the Evil Dead franchise and serves as a sequel to The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness films. What is there to say about Ash vs. Evil Dead first official trailer? Sheer awesomeness. Well that is how it seems to those who adored or grown to like Bruce Campbell and the Evil Dead film franchise. In a television industry saturated by gritty and serious take on zombies and demons, it is refreshing to see a high budget series that is an official sequel to one of the most nostalgic zombie-demon movie horror comedy classic.


I am loving the practical effects and zombie-deamons featured so far in the trailer. Ash can now wield magic? Did you see how he seemingly use the "force" to summon that signature chainsaw? It is also refreshing to see Lucy Lawless together with Bruce Campbell (Remembers Xena: Warrior Princess Days).The first Ash vs. Evil Dead tv trailer pays homage to the first three films by showing some vivid flashbacks showing that this is part of the continuum. A sequel that could give justice and explain things that will was left by the Army of Darkness. How did Ash get to the normal timeline or reality? What has Ash been doing all this time letting deadites loose to kill? Hopefully that will all soon be answered once Ash vs. Evil Dead will premiere on Starz this October 2015.

CBS Supergirl Trailer Impressions: Superman's Cousin Taking over Television

Supergirl is a 2015 U.S. superhero television series set to air on CBS and will debut in November 2015 with Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. CBS Supergirl television series is based from DC Comics character Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino. Kara Zor-El is the biological cousin to Superman and one of the last surviving Kryptonians. Supergirl is another DC Comics superhero television series joining the ranks of The CW's Arrow (2012) and The Flash (2014), Fox's Gotham, and the now defunct NBC's Constantine (2014). Let's check out what CBS has in stor for us with Supergirl this 2015.

Twenty-four-year-old Kara Zor-El, who was taken in by the Danvers family when she was 12 after being sent away from Krypton, must learn to embrace her powers after previously hiding them.[1] The Danvers teach her to be careful with her powers, until she has to reveal them during an unexpected disaster, setting her on her journey of heroism.

CBS Supergirl (2015) Television Trailer Review






So what can we say about the Supergirl First Look Trailer released by CBS this May 13, 2015? To start off it is giving off this lighthearted girl-empowering drama feel to it which is still good in my personal opinion and preference. It seems to be more lighthearted which reminds me a bit of The CW's The Flash in it's earlier part of the season, but will eventually tone down a bit (gearing to a more serious or darker tone) for it to be taken seriously - a standard nowadays when it comes to superhero television series.


I am not that familiar with the Supergirl mythos or her villains. I only know her at some extent with various DC Animated movies released earlier and the Justice League animated series. This is potentially a good show to get audience become familiar with or picque their curiosity with the super heroine. Some things I've noticed is: (1) Superman is heavily referenced in this series which is good because you can't really go on so without; (2) appearance of Jimmy (James) Olsen from the Daily Planet is another Superman reference, which could indicate other characters from the Superman story might appear in the show. Will we see Lois Lane or Lex Luthor here is yet to be see; (3) Her foster sister seems to be associated with the Department of Extra-Normal Operations which could explain how she got exposed to this organization (as seen in other press releases); (4) this trailer is quite a handful and is enough to build hype for the series. I am also liking the humor shown so far in this trailer. It is really shaping up well for the DC Television Universe. It is a good thing that Warner Bros. Television decided to separate the TV Universe (Arrow, Flash, Constantine) from the DC Cinematic Universe which is WAY darker and unforgiving. Now if we can only get to make US Television companies (CBS, Fox, The CW) agree to do more crossover episodes (without compromising the premise of the entire series) then that would be awesome (epic even)! I am hopeful for a good quality Justice League live action television series in the not so far future.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Trailer Impressions: Another Magical World and a Heroine to Save It

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is an upcoming 2013 action adventure fantasy film adaptation of a novel by Cassandra Clare, directed by Harald Zwart starring Lily Collins, Kevin Zegers, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jemima West, Jamie Campbell Bower and Robert Sheehan. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is based on the 2007 first book entitled "City of Bones" of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. The film is set for an August 23, 2013 US theatrical release. Let us take a first look at the movie adaptation of Cassandra Clare's City of Bones.

Some of the best and unfortunately worst (ahem! Twi...) Hollywood films are based on literary pieces. It is really not a big surprise that Hollywood has shifted its attention to make films based on fantasy and sci-fi books (novels and comic books). They have been doing it in the past decade so why stop now. They are looking for the next big Hollywood blockbuster ala Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, and yes... even Twilight. This time they take another bestselling fantasy title with City of Bones, a book on The Mortal Instruments sci-fi and fantasy series authored by Cassandra Clare.

This time we follow a female protagonist in another magical world amidst everyone's awareness. A seemingly ordinary girl (a pretty cute one if I may emphasize) is eventually pulled into a war that she has no idea with. The story looks a bit predictable, but how to lead to that end is what we as an audience is looking forward for. To whether other books under The Mortal Instruments can be made into a Hollywood film all depends on the performance of this film. Let's just hope that we have another good fantasy film at our hands. Something that will be appreciated by both male and female film fans, and not just teenage girls.
