Goosebumps Film Trailer Review

Goosebumps 2015 comedy horror film based on R L Stine's Goosebumps children's horror books

So what is there to say about the Goosebumps official movie trailer? For starters, Goosebumps looks particularly pretty with its CGI monsters and gives off a "Jumanji" and "The Monster Squad" kind of feel to it. Knowing such facts, Goosebumps may very well become the next children's film classic. The original R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books are (of themselves) have such ridiculous concepts which provide genuine scares, taught lessons, and entertained a lot of children back in the days (and still as of the present) who are now seeing their favorite characters be brought to life... again.

Goosebumps 2015 comedy horror film movie adaptation of R L Stine's Goosebumps' books starring Jack Black featuring Abominable Snowman

Yes, I was able to say again as not long ago Goosebumps was adapted to a television series which captured the hearts of the kids back in the late 90's. The Canadian/American horror anthology television series first featured the monsters that we can see in this 2015 comedy horror flick starring Jack Black. While those who grew up watching Goosebumps (including me) where genuinely skeptical at first when I first saw it, it eventually grew on me as this is simply not an every re-telling of every story of the many R.L. Stine Goosebumps book, but a fresh film. A fresh take for a newer audience that celebrates the history of both the print and television media that was Goosebumps. A tribute of a film that could gather new market or kids to check out the literary horror classic, Goosebumps. I am generally positive about this film and will check it once it hits the theaters.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies 2016 horror comedy romantic film featuring the Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters kicking zombie ass in a 19th Centure Zombie Infested England

So what is there to say about the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies official trailer? Well, what can't be asaid about the trailer? The title alone speaks for itself. It is a film adaptation of the 2009 novel by Seth Grahame-Smith parodying Jane Austen's 1813 classic novel "Pride and Prejudice". It is Pride and Prejudice only set in an alternate reality where a zombie outbreak endangers the 19th century England and it is up its English citizen to fight them using a wide arsenal of zombie killing weapons and martial arts. It is so ridiculous but it worked as the 2009 parody novel has been warmly received by critics and became a part of various best seller list (mainly New York Times and later at Amazon). A novel that warmly welcomes classical literature fans and the more contemporary fans of horror, comedy, and zombies.

One shouldn't really be surprised as many bestselling novel have been subjected to various film adaptation and "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is way up on that list. The film is simply a treat for both classical literature fans whom had enjoyed the Jane Austen novel and modern movie fans into zombies. Who wouldn't want to see 19th century classy English women using martial arts (even Ninjutsu) to fight off hordes of zombies? Let's just hope that this film adaptation gives justice to its source material. A what-if post-apocalyptic world chronicling the point-of-view of a man and his quest to fight this war against the zombie pandemic. Can the world be truly ready for such scientific anomaly? A funny new twist on a classic love story, WARM BODIES is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human -- setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

Zombies have become its own genre in Hollywood now. The usual theme is horror and comedy, but adding a romantic element to a zombie film is refreshing. This is what Warm Bodies did, which is pretty obscure. Well, the idea of zombies is already pretty over the top concept itself, but dying and becoming a zombie only to gain a second shot at life because of love is even weirder even for zombie standards.

Warm Bodies 2013 film adaptation of the novel Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion about the lovestory of a undead teenage boy and a living human teenage girl bonies

Meet R, a zombie who can barely put words together. The trailer starts off at the point of perspective of a zombie which is also particularly new given that they are pretty much "brain dead" or rather they cease to exist when their brains are blown off. Zombies are pretty much the antagonists in this film, but the budding love between a teenage zombie and a teenage girl may give these warm bodied zombies a second chance in life. The only question is how can they convince living humans to reconsider their miraculous change of heart (and appetite) while another set of zombies of the sinister kind exists. My curiosity is piqued with Warm Bodies, I am just hoping that it doesn't suck as bad as that other romantic movie featuring a human and a more popular horror monster.

What can we say about the second trailer for the Hobbit 2012 film adaptation that we haven't said in the first trailer impression we did? Now the second trailer has more epic action scenes and now with the well beloved Gollum a.k.a. Smeagol. Well chances are that Gollum wouldn't even be in this first Hobbit film, but what the heck it effectively builds hype and that is not really that bad. Misleading but not bad.

It is very much welcome for most of us. I am just glad that I haven't read the books so this new Tolkien film adaptation will be fresh to me. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Trailer Impressions: A Crazy Take on a Historical Figure with Vampires

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is 2012 supernatural thriller film based on a 2010 novel Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. This "what if" fictional supernatural horror film adaptation of the mashup novel gained mixed reviews back on 2010. The film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith which is slated for a June 2012 theatrical release plays with the idea that the historical American icon and 16th President of the United States was a vampire hunter. Let's take a look at this seemingly crazy idea of a book adapted to a 2012 film here.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Film Trailer Review

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has a pretty interesting yet crazy theme. Hopefully Americans won't take this film too seriously in a sense that they would find it insulting to see the country's greatest historical icon behind the abolition of slave trade and a symbol of equality as a vampire hunter.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter 2012 film adaptation of Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith

I personally think this is fresh. I like "what-if" scenarios done right. Reading the summary of the novel which already spoiled the film for me, all I can say is that amidst the film's seemingly absurd and preposterous concept, the film hopefully would be as entertaining as the novel it is based from. I am optimistic that this film will be a good one and will be putting this under my watch-list this 2012.

The Hunger Games Trailer Impressions: A Promising New Franchise

Whether you like it or not, Hollywood will have its way on your much beloved book via movie adaptations. You have to give them props though for adapting those seemingly complex and endless chapters of a book into a two to three hour flick. Only few films have successfully mimicked its original counterpart's success, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are the two best examples of which. Now another film based on a book is on the works, and he premise alone is solid... The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games
Plot

Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used to be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Katniss' sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

Hollywood had its fair share of movie adaptations and if you have been a big movie goer, you'll know that not every book adapted to the big screen is as good as what you might think of it, I am looking at you Twilight. But every once in a while there are actually good movie adaptations that comes along the way that proves that Hollywood still has "it". Call me optimistic about "The Hunger Games" but after reading the premise and this teaser, it somehow give the impression that it is one of those good movie adaptations.

the hunger games movie trailer impressions

The Hunger Games is slated for a March 2012 release and they are a bit successful in teasing with this trailer... at least for those who have read the book. But for someone who doesn't know about the books, this trailer might be a little obscure. Hope the next trailers would include stating a post apocalyptic world and a few characterization of the protagonists without spoiling too much on what will happen in the film. If you got curious on the premise I said earlier, then go spoil yourself by reading it on Wiki or some book reviews on the net. Hopefully you won't spoil your self too much to not see this movie as this MIGHT potentially be the next Harry Potter film franchise; or maybe I am just hopeful of seeing a good novel to film adaptation once again.
