A curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug. What can we say about the second trailer for the Hobbit 2012 film adaptation that we haven't said in the first trailer impression we did? Now the second trailer has more epic action scenes and now with the well beloved Gollum a.k.a. Smeagol. Well chances are that Gollum wouldn't even be in this first Hobbit film, but what the heck it effectively builds hype and that is not really that bad. Misleading but not bad.

For those who loved and followed the epic adventure of Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings film and book trilogy, this film adaptation is essential to complete what the first film trilogy has started. It is very much welcome for most of us. I am just glad that I haven't read the books so this new Tolkien film adaptation will be fresh to me. Now we have more epic medieval adventure fantasy to look forward for this year and the two year following that with the Hobbit film trilogy. There is nothing left to say about An Unexpected Journey but to just enjoy it this Fall of 2012.

American Reunion Trailer Impressions: The Original American Pie's Reunion Movie But Have They Really Grown Up?

American Reunion is a 2012 comedy film and the the third official movie (or the 8th if you count the direct to video spin-offs) under the American Pie film series. Under Universal Studios American Reunion is written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg which reunites the main cast of the 1999 American Pie Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Seann William Scott, and Tara Reid. Those who enjoyed the American Pie series would probably like this third official film which stars and reunites the same characters from its original 1999 title. This time, the comedy film deals with what life is like after all the fun, curiosity, and mishaps of high school. A reunion film of the characters you loved or hate from the series.

I like it when films try to continue the story with the same characters only getting older, smarter and more mature. This was what Toy Story 3 did, and now its American Pie's turn to do so. The film reunites the raunchy high school seniors of East Great Falls. All grown up and have "established" themselves, what further adventures and realization will these "grownups" have in this film. One thing is sure, it is the same raunchy fun that the series was known for.

Sadako 3D is a 2012 Japanese horror film and fourth Japanese sequel to the very first Ring or Ringu back in 1998 adapted from the novel "Ring" by Koji Suzuki. Sadako 3D is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa which stars Satomi Ishihara, Koji Seto & Yusuke Yamamoto slated for a May 12, 2012 Japanese theatrical release in spooktacular 3-D! Akane does not believe the rumor at first, but when one of her female students dies after viewing the footage, she and her boyfriend Takanori are fatefully drawn into the horror that has been created by the man who appears in the suicide footage, Kashiwada.

Kashiwada’s intention is to create chaos in the world by bringing back Sadako and the power of her curse. Now Akane has to fight against Sadako and Kashiwada to save the lives of herself and Takanori.”

We can't deny that nostalgia plays a big part in the success of a movie. Adaptations of an an iconic television show, book, or video game will usually bring out a feeling of excitement to those who grew up with such titles. The original Japanese Ring is probably one of the first Asian horror films that spook the living hell out of me as a kid which made me fell in love with it as a horror fan later on (the next film being Ju-on/Grudge). Knowing that Sadako 3D is a movie written by the original author of the nove Ring, this makes me more excited to see how will they creep out the fans who grew up with their Ring film series.

I have read a couple of rumors regarding Sadako 3D: Mainly that the film is a spin-off movie and that the title is still subjective to change. Well, at least it is not a reboot. The past Ring films were uniquely scary in their own time and although it would be interesting to see how will Japan upgrade the scares, they decided not to. Luckily Japan isn't that crazy about making reboots unlike Hollywood. Spin-off movie? why not. Seeing the films synopsis, there is a more sinister power behind the resurfacing of the curse of Sadako, the question is will he have the same tragic story that drove him to extreme ends to creating chaos through Sadako's curse? That is what I am looking forward to with this film. No, I am not looking forward to its US adaptation but for the subtitled version if ever it gets an international theatrical release or even in home video format. And Sadako 3D? Well, I think it is a lame title as well. They can improve it by omitting the 3D and just going with plain old Sadako, although Ring: Sadako's Curse would probably have a nicer tone to it, but that's just me. Will the scares be elevated by incorporating 3-D, that is what will everyone find out once it gets released in spooktacular 3-D.

Generally fans of the Ring are pretty much hyped about this Japanese film. Hopefully seeing the international reception, the people behind it would release this internationally, but knowing the internet and devoted fans this will definitely be available in some definite time in the not so near future. Sadako 3D trailer has its creepy moments and some really cliche but still creepy parts present in a typical Asian horror movie, something that I personally adore.

Resident Evil Retribution 3D Trailer Impressions: The Zombie Sci-Fi Franchise is Back for the Fifth Time in 3-D

Resident Evil Retribution is the fifth installment of the Resident Evil film franchise. This 3D science-fiction action horror film continues the story of Alice (Milla Jovovich) and her superhuman abilities to combat zombie monstrosities created by the Umbrella Corporation and zombie outbreak.

IT IS A PROPAGANDA, I SAY!!! I didn't know that this is an actual trailer for the film because at first I thought that this was an ad for the Vita. The latest Sony handheld, the PS Vita made a cameo in this trailer which is a big "DUH?", Hahahaha bring on the flame Sony Fan Boys. But seriously speaking, this is just the film giving a nod or tribute to where the entire Resident Evil video game franchise which this film franchise was based on all started, on the original Sony Playstation.



So we have Milla Jovovich again introducing that she's Alice again, because we might have already forgotten about her on the last four films that she just starred. Well personally speaking, I already lost track of this franchise after after Extinction, I think there is something to that last film that disappointed me or made me not excited to watch the next film. I guess I need to watch that last RE film in order to understand this sequel and possible future sequels, that is if they still plan to milk this 3-D film franchise. Oh well, good luck on that.



What is there to say, there are zombies and I do hope that they finally gave us a much needed ending and a better writing and engaging storyline besides its flashy 3-D slow-mos and 3-D effects. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted Trailer Impressions: The Third Installments and No, the Animals Aren't Home Yet

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is a computer-animated 3-D comedy film and the third installment of the Madagascar film series which still follows the story of four New York City Zoo animals whom with the "help" of four sneaky penguins return to the wild, only to find themselves not completely fitting in and so the quest to return to that home continues. Produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures will this third to the last installment be as fun as that comes before it?

Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippopotamus, and Melman the Giraffe set out to return to New York after escaping to Africa. Dependent on the mechanical know-how of the notorious monkeys, their plan inevitably goes awry and they find themselves stranded in Monte Carlo, where they try to escape Europe from animal control by joining up with a traveling circus by chance. Led by the venerable tiger Vitali, the animal-centered circus has seen better days. During the course of a tour through a series of European cities that ends in a fabulous big top in the heart of London, Alex, Marty, Gloria, and Melman help Vitaly, Gia the jaguar, and Stefano the sea lion, rediscover their passion for show business and reinvent circus performance.

Who would have thought that the CGI film Madagascar would be an animated film "tetralogy " a.k.a. quadrilogy? Well that should not be a surprised as Hollywood has this awful habit of milking something which either successfully works or frustratingly don't. As far as he Madagascar series is concern, I think Dreamworks did the right thing, take four likable main protagonists and continue to follow their quest to get home. That is what Madagascar film series has been all about and you know what it is alright.



This time the animals are in Monte Carlo and on the run, now they have to "blend in" for them to successfully go back to New York City. You will see some similarly humorous scene in this trailer and as I watch the trailer, I cannot help but smile to see familiar faces doing what they usually do. A perfect movie to bring the kids without boring the adults as well, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is a good 2012 family movie. A very easy recommendation for CMAQUEST.
