So what is there to say about the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies official trailer? Well, what can't be asaid about the trailer? The title alone speaks for itself. It is a film adaptation of the 2009 novel by Seth Grahame-Smith parodying Jane Austen's 1813 classic novel "Pride and Prejudice". It is Pride and Prejudice only set in an alternate reality where a zombie outbreak endangers the 19th century England and it is up its English citizen to fight them using a wide arsenal of zombie killing weapons and martial arts. It is so ridiculous but it worked as the 2009 parody novel has been warmly received by critics and became a part of various best seller list (mainly New York Times and later at Amazon). A novel that warmly welcomes classical literature fans and the more contemporary fans of horror, comedy, and zombies.


One shouldn't really be surprised as many bestselling novel have been subjected to various film adaptation and "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is way up on that list. The film is simply a treat for both classical literature fans whom had enjoyed the Jane Austen novel and modern movie fans into zombies. Who wouldn't want to see 19th century classy English women using martial arts (even Ninjutsu) to fight off hordes of zombies? Let's just hope that this film adaptation gives justice to its source material. Silent Hill is back and just like a more video game based movie adaptation (Resident Evil) it is going to be in 3-D as well. Silent Hill: Revelations 3D first made its debut on the San Diego Comic-Con 2012 with a scene featuring the Silent Hill Nurse.

Finally after 6 years, Hollywood has decided to take another shot with Silent Hill. I just don't know how to feel with films going 3-D nowadays, hopefully this Silent Hill sequel has something more to offer than the eye-popping 3-D and the extra bucks that goes with this theatrical effect. Well it is nice to see some iconic scenes and characters from the Silent Hill universe like Pyramid Head, the nurses and the actual town itself but hopefully there is more genuine scares and an actually good (not a carbon copy of the video games) story that weaves all of the scares and effects together. Well, let's keep our fingers crossed on this video game based movie, and hopefully it doesn't suck like any other video games that come before it.

Dredd Trailer Impressions: Judge Dredd is Back!

Dredd is a 2012 action sci-fi film based on the Judge Joseph Dredd fictional character from the British science fiction anthology comics 2000 AD. Most of you might be more familiar with the 1995 sci-fi action film Judge Dredd starring Sylvester Stallone. Given this fact, the 2012 Dredd film is not a remake but more of a movie adaptation of the comics 2000 AD featuring the story of Dredd. Let's check out this upcoming action film here.

The story of Dredd takes place on an Earth ravaged by the Atomic Wars. Dredd Film Trailer Review

Upon seeing this trailer I initially asked if this is a sequel, prequel or remake of Stallone's Judge Dredd (1995) but in further researching found out that the 1995 version that I was familiar with was not the first Dredd. It is basically a modern film adaptation of a classic British sci-fi action comics.

This is film is probably worth taking a shot especially for those who perfectly or vaguely like 1995's Judge Dredd. Maybe it is just me or it seems like Stallone's Dredd has been forever implanted in my consciousness because I can't help but to reminisce and compare Sylvestre Stallone's portrayal of the badass judge to Karl Urban's modern take on it. Hopefully there is enough high octane action that can also make us reminisce of what the 90's was back in the days. You can't really expect some complex plot when it comes to these kinds of film and what you see in the trailer is probably what you'll get when you hit the theaters once this film gets release on the third quarter of 2012.

The Possession is a 2012 horror film from Ghost House Pictures and Lionsgate about a family dealing with their daughter's demonic possession. Sam Raimi Presents The Possession Film Trailer Review

Another demonic horror film based on a true story, huh? So is there any truth to this claim? Well this time there are related articles written about the actual events that this movie was based from. The only question now is the authenticity of such stories, but if there is one thing that we can be certain is that such mythical and legendary tales about a demon in a box haunting its owners sure makes a good concept for a horror film.

That is what The Possession is all about. It is a Sam Raimi produced horror film based on a e-bay auctioned antique item called the Dybbuk Box which according to stories haunted the owners of whomever have possession on it. I wll probably feature the story of that box on CMAQUEST to further expand its lore since yours truly is a junkie of anything horror. Well what can I say about this trailer? Well a bhaunted item possessing its owners isn't really something new as a concept but some of the scenes showed in this film has some really interesting stuff. The plot has been literally been introduced in the trailer, but what is good about it is that it didn't feature the creepiest part of the film. Well it is safe to assume it that way. Well it looks decent and it somehow piqued a bit of my interest. Will probably give it a try once it gets a release date.

The Expendables 2 Trailer Impressions: When One Mega Movie Starring Action Superstars is Not Enough

The Expendables 2 is a 2012 ensemble cast action film sequel to the similarly awesome The Expendables back in 2010. There are some movies that are meant to be left alone, untouched for any sequels, remakes or reboots. Once Hollywood don't take such heed, well let us just say that both fans and critics would bash it like a pinata with its content all over the place. But then there are some films that are just asking to be continued and Expendables is one of them.



Where do action film superstars go when they have lived their golden days? Well, besides their multibillion retirement life or a life of charity, some actually decided to actually cast them into one mega movie which Lionsgate did in the first The Expendables action movie back in 2010. With such successful sales and reception, it is expected for the studios to make a sequel and that is what they did with The Expendables 2. What can be said about the ultimate action star collaboration sequel? It is just that! Setting aside my usual critical taste when reviewing trailers and films, The Expendables 2 movie trailer just show one actual scene which doesn't tell or preview much about the plot (which is both a good and bad thing when I usually review trailers) then it's all just faces of past and present action movie superstars flashing afterwards. Why would not the trailer do that? It is not the complex storyline or the acting that would make movie goers flock the theater to watch this, but the actual idea of putting all of these once were and probably still are popular action film into one good solid two and more hours of mindless action fun. If you grew up watching action movies starring any actors in this film, then this is a no brainer and you'll eventually watch it... in any format you like.

As Cabin in the Woods twist what you might possibly think behind is the horror behind the woods.



Will it be some deranged psychotic killer or a monstrosity of unimaginable proportions? Well that is the question in this trailer, but more than that there is a sense and element of science fiction in this film. When you see someone talks on the phone referring to the woods as a "killing floor" and a forced field frying an eagle to oblivion , then it gets more intriguing. What is behind the killings? Is it of human technology or something more sinister? Is it really a man's sick and twisted entertainment or there is a more intriguing underlying twist behind it? A couple of weeks back, we reviewed the first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games and what promise it holds. Finally the official trailer for The Hunger Games is finally out and here is the our trailer review for The Hunger Games.



In a post-apocalyptic distant future where the world would rather sacrificed a number children or teenagers to avoid countless of lives wasted in wars, comes the general plot of this film. Fans of the books may probably know the workings of this novel inside-out, but if the film wants to build up a hype and attract more film fans, the marketing team has got to make some pretty interesting trailer and that is what the Hunger Games official trailer has pulled off. Engaging musical scoring... check!; a pretty and good actors playing on it... check!; showing the core concept of the film without spoiling to much... check!. So it got everything covered for a good trailer. This is really shaping up to be a good film series with competitive acting, drama and action elements. I haven't read the books but it has given me the impression that it will be a good film, if not a good movie adaptation of the similarly popular novel.

The Hunger Games Trailer Impressions: A Promising New Franchise

Whether you like it or not, Hollywood will have its way on your much beloved book via movie adaptations. You have to give them props though for adapting those seemingly complex and endless chapters of a book into a two to three hour flick. Only few films have successfully mimicked its original counterpart's success, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are the two best examples of which. Now another film based on a book is on the works, and he premise alone is solid... The Hunger Games.

The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Katniss' sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

Hollywood had its fair share of movie adaptations and if you have been a big movie goer, you'll know that not every book adapted to the big screen is as good as what you might think of it, I am looking at you Twilight. But every once in a while there are actually good movie adaptations that comes along the way that proves that Hollywood still has "it". Call me optimistic about "The Hunger Games" but after reading the premise and this teaser, it somehow give the impression that it is one of those good movie adaptations.



The Hunger Games is slated for a March 2012 release and they are a bit successful in teasing with this trailer... at least for those who have read the book. But for someone who doesn't know about the books, this trailer might be a little obscure. Hope the next trailers would include stating a post apocalyptic world and a few characterization of the protagonists without spoiling too much on what will happen in the film. If you got curious on the premise I said earlier, then go spoil yourself by reading it on Wiki or some book reviews on the net. Hopefully you won't spoil your self too much to not see this movie as this MIGHT potentially be the next Harry Potter film franchise; or maybe I am just hopeful of seeing a good novel to film adaptation once again.

Prepare for the Final Slaughter with Saw 3D

After six gruesome films, Saw will finally close its bloody curtain with the release of Saw 3D. What better way to end a popular slasher horror film franchise than ending it in bloody 3-D.

Premise

As Jigsaw is revealing to Adam to be the mastermind behind all of the "games" (Saw), Dr. Gordon is crawling in the hall outside the bathroom to try and find help. Along the way he reaches a hot pipe and uses it to cauterize his amputated foot. The next scene cuts to an urban shopping area where a crowd of people gather around a storefront window to find two men, Ryan and Brad, tied to a worktable, each with a buzz saw in front of them and their lover, Dina, suspended above. As she is being lowered onto another buzz saw, each of the men must choose to either kill the other person in order to save her, or allow her to die, resulting in their freedom.



Meanwhile, survivors from Jigsaw's previous traps gather to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen. Mark Hoffman and Jill Tuck battle over Jigsaw's legacy.
