Ash vs. Evil Dead First TV Trailer Review

What is there to say about Ash vs. Evil Dead first official trailer? Sheer awesomeness. Well that is how it seems to those who adored or grown to like Bruce Campbell and the Evil Dead film franchise. In a television industry saturated by gritty and serious take on zombies and demons, it is refreshing to see a high budget series that is an official sequel to one of the most nostalgic zombie-demon movie horror comedy classic.

I am loving the practical effects and zombie-deamons featured so far in the trailer. Ash can now wield magic? Did you see how he seemingly use the "force" to summon that signature chainsaw? It is also refreshing to see Lucy Lawless together with Bruce Campbell (Remembers Xena: Warrior Princess Days). The first Ash vs. Evil Dead tv trailer pays homage to the first three films by showing some vivid flashbacks showing that this is part of the continuum. A sequel that could give justice and explain things that will was left by the Army of Darkness. How did Ash get to the normal timeline or reality? What has Ash been doing all this time letting deadites loose to kill? Hopefully that will all soon be answered once Ash vs. Evil Dead will premiere on Starz this October 2015.

How about you guys? what do you think about this direct-to-television series sequel to the beloved Evil Dead series? Are you a fan of the first three films or of Bruce Campbell? What's you favorite Bruce Campbell film? If you are not a fan, after seeing the trailer, will you check the series out and give it a try? The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Film Trailer Review

Some of the best and unfortunately worst (ahem! Twi...) Hollywood films are based on literary pieces. It is really not a big surprise that Hollywood has shifted its attention to make films based on fantasy and sci-fi books (novels and comic books). They have been doing it in the past decade so why stop now. They are looking for the next big Hollywood blockbuster ala Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, and yes... even Twilight. This time they take another bestselling fantasy title with City of Bones, a book on The Mortal Instruments sci-fi and fantasy series authored by Cassandra Clare.

This time we follow a female protagonist in another magical world amidst everyone's awareness. A seemingly ordinary girl (a pretty cute one if I may emphasize) is eventually pulled into a war that she has no idea with. The story looks a bit predictable, but how to lead to that end is what we as an audience is looking forward for. To whether other books under The Mortal Instruments can be made into a Hollywood film all depends on the performance of this film. Let's just hope that we have another good fantasy film at our hands. Something that will be appreciated by both male and female film fans, and not just teenage girls.

Sinister Film Trailer Review

Horror film fans may argue to whether Paranormal Activity and Insidious are effective and good horror films, but for the rest of the world that loved the two recent horror film titles would probably expect a lot from Sinister. Sinister is a horror film from the same producers that made Paranormal Activity and Insidious, so how does the trailer fairs up with its predecessors?

Sinister's premise is not really authentic, a family moved into a house with a gruesome history which will later haunt their family as well. The only redeeming qualities of horror films under these kinds of caliber and cliche are the scares. A good mix of jump and psychological scares is always a plus in my book and so far, Sinister has some of them. Hope the film would offer something new or has some weird twist, but even if without them I would still see this film being a big fan of horror film and as for someone who liked the Paranormal Activity and Insidious.

How about you guys? What can you say about this haunted house/ demonic possession film from the producers of Insidious and Paranormal Activity? Did you like the two films that the makers of Sinister recently produced? Share your thoughts on the comments section below:

Sam Raimi Presents The Possession Film Trailer Review

Another demonic horror film based on a true story, huh? So is there any truth to this claim? Well this time there are related articles written about the actual events that this movie was based from. The only question now is the authenticity of such stories, but if there is one thing that we can be certain is that such mythical and legendary tales about a demon in a box haunting its owners sure makes a good concept for a horror film.

That is what The Possession is all about. It is a Sam Raimi produced horror film based on a e-bay auctioned antique item called the Dybbuk Box which according to stories haunted the owners of whomever have possession on it. I wll probably feature the story of that box on CMAQUEST to further expand its lore since yours truly is a junkie of anything horror. Well what can I say about this trailer? Well a bhaunted item possessing its owners isn't really something new as a concept but some of the scenes showed in this film has some really interesting stuff. The plot has been literally been introduced in the trailer, but what is good about it is that it didn't feature the creepiest part of the film. Well it is safe to assume it that way. Well it looks decent and it somehow piqued a bit of my interest. Will probably give it a try once it gets a release date.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance Trailer Review

Ah! Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance. Who would have thought that they would make a sequel out of the first film which was negatively received by most critics? Well, I guess ordinary movie goers liked it and as a trend in Hollywood if it sells, then why not milk it. This is why they made a sequel still featuring Nicholas Cage as The Ghost Rider.

After stating the obvious facts, people will still watch Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance when it hits theaters in February 2012. It still has superb graphics and hopefully the people behind the first film actually listen (for once) to critical feedback on the first film. People are looking for a darker and grittier storyline and characters, which was really normal for a Marvel character who is struggling with a demon craving for the sins of mankind. When I first heard that they are going to make a sequel for Ghost Rider, I really hope that it was going to be a reboot of some sort or that they will be picking different people (actors) to play the role of Ghost Rider. Marvel has done it with Spider-man, Hulk, Fantastic Four and Punisher so why not the Ghost Rider. It was poorly received then so it was a surprised when they announced that the same team or actors will be resuming their roles in the 2012 sequel. 'Guess Marvel has other plans for the Ghost rider film series. If Spider-man made it to all three films before Hollywood decided to finally pull the plug on it and pushed the reset button, well I guess a sequel won't hurt the Ghost Rider. The trailer features a lot more darker tone, but still manages to pull a few laughs in it. Imagine how Ghost Rider would pee when he is on fire, man that scene either cracks you up or irritate you to death.

How about you guys? What do you think about Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance and Nicholas Cage reprising his role as the flaming biker spirit of vengeance? Share your thoughts on the comments section below:

The Devil Inside Trailer Impressions: Demonic Possession Addressed Through Science and Religion?

The Devil Inside Film Trailer Reviews

A key to any successful film trailer is to build up hype without spoiling anything about the film and thank goodness The Devil Inside does everything right. The element of mystery is important to every horror film and although it has already featured some scenes with jump scares which this film might possibly have a lot, it somehow works in this trailer's favor. We have already seen horror films adapt this "based on actual events" gig, and so far it might still work. To whether the indie style shaky film will work well on this film is yet to be seen. The Devil Inside is one of those kinds of film that suggest you leave most of your belief system behind, and just enjoy the spooks and scares that this film has to offer.
