Well this is... refreshing? A new serial killer who now wears a smiley mask. The only question is Will it be more like the supernatural "Candy Man", or much more grounded to the truth like the "Scream" killer? Well basing from the genre it falls under, it obviously falls in the latter.

Well, we haven't seen that much slasher films and if ever this new Smiley becomes popular, then we may have ourselves a new series to follow. I just don't know if that's good or bad, but seeing the trend of films in Hollywood for the last decade or so, it is not that inconceivable. I just find it amusing how can a lighthearted emoticon like the smiley can be used as a theme or a mascot for a thriller. The only question is will they actually pull it off?

Sinister Film Trailer Review

Horror film fans may argue to whether Paranormal Activity and Insidious are effective and good horror films, but for the rest of the world that loved the two recent horror film titles would probably expect a lot from Sinister. Sinister is a horror film from the same producers that made Paranormal Activity and Insidious, so how does the trailer fairs up with its predecessors?

Sinister's premise is not really authentic, a family moved into a house with a gruesome history which will later haunt their family as well. The only redeeming qualities of horror films under these kinds of caliber and cliche are the scares. A good mix of jump and psychological scares is always a plus in my book and so far, Sinister has some of them. Hope the film would offer something new or has some weird twist, but even if without them I would still see this film being a big fan of horror film and as for someone who liked the Paranormal Activity and Insidious.

The Innkeepers trailer looks like a decent horror film basing solely on this trailer. It provides a nice sense of mystery to how and what could possibly transpire inside this haunted inn on its last few days and the unfortunate fate of the people who dared to explore it. The trailer uses this nice classic music to give it this spooky vibe. Nice spooky effects but we hope it doesn't give just provides jump scares but authentic psychological horror. The Devil Inside Trailer Impressions: Demonic Possession Addressed Through Science and Religion?

Demonic possessions have been used as a theme on most horror films and to whether you will believe them or not, one thing is certain Hollywood is here to make movies out of them. The Devil Inside is another exorcism-themed horror film set to be released on January 2012. What does the trailer say about this flick?

She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy where her mother has been locked away to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to cure her mom using unconventional methods combining both science and religion, they come face-to-face with pure evil in the form of four demons possessing Maria.

A key to any successful film trailer is to build up hype without spoiling anything about the film and thank goodness The Devil Inside does everything right. The element of mystery is important to every horror film and although it has already featured some scenes with jump scares which this film might possibly have a lot, it somehow works in this trailer's favor. We have already seen horror films adapt this "based on actual events" gig, and so far it might still work. To whether the indie style shaky film will work well on this film is yet to be seen. The Devil Inside is one of those kinds of film that suggest you leave most of your belief system behind, and just enjoy the spooks and scares that this film has to offer.

Nightmare All Over Again - The Nightmare on Elm Street Reboot Trailer

One of the most popular and classic horror icons dating back as early as the 80's until 90's is now back with another reboot, Freddy Krueger. First there was Jason Vorquees of Friday the 13th so it is no surprise on what horror classic they'll reboot next, Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street.



A Nightmare on Elm street 2010 reboot welcomes you back the infamous Elm Street which once was the home to the hated child murderer, Freddy Krueger who was prosecuted and burned to death by grieving parents over his killing streak. He then resurfaced as a vengeful undead or demon who kills through dreams. Whatever happens in his victim's dreams will probably happened to them in the real world, not unless they wake up.



Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger in the classic A Nightmare on Elm Street. Freddy’s trademark outfit is a fedora, red-and-green striped sweater, and four-bladed gloves.

This time Freddy is back with this new A Nightmare on Elm Street movie which is set to be release by 2010 by Warner Bros. worldwide. This time he is off to kill a group of teenagers through their dreams. What will their fate be by then, guess we are all be guessing until the release of this sleeper horror film by 2010.

There are currently mixed reviews right now with this latest classic horror movie reboot, probably because actor Robert Englund will not be playing as the Freddy Krueger. "Carved: A Slit-Mouthed Woman" (Kuchisake-onna) Movies

As I've blogged about the Asian Urban Legend of the Slit-Mouthed Woman I've also encountered two movies which were inspired from it... the two movies were entitled "Kuchisake-Onna" or "Carved: A Slit-Mouthed Woman" Japanese Movies.

The first Japanese urban legend to movie adaptation release was last March 2007. The movie was internationally entitled as Carved: A Slit-Mouthed Woman which was also known as Kuchisake-onna in Japan where it was created. Here is a movie trailer of that movie:

Seven Years Later... "RESIDENT EVIL: Degeneration"

I remembered this game back in my high school days. It was the first ever "zombie game" on the gaming console that actually rocked and spooked the hell out of lots its gamers. Resident Evil or Bio Hazard aficionados is going to love this new animated movie follow up movie from the Resident Evil game series.

(May Contain some story reviews, summary and images which might spoil you.)

The premise of the story is set seven years after the outbreak of the T-Virus in Racoon City. The threat of the zombie infestation is now under-controlled but terrorism and violence is still rampant in the new society.

Claire Redfield is now a non-governmental organization representative which handles search and rescue of chemical and bio-terrorist attacks. As Claire arrives at the airport for some official NGO business, catastrophic events after the other started happening. A zombie appeared at the airline terminal and attacked and started infecting (literally biting) by-standards. Later an airplane crashed down on the terminal containing a number of zombies (humans infected with the t-virus)






Claire, together with the remaining survivors sought refuge and radioed about their where abouts. An rescue team was sent to save the survivors which was lead by Leon Scott Kennedy together with ex-SWAT police officer Angela Miller and Rani Chawla.



What happened next was a series of events and conspiracy, all unfolding the plot about the government, the bio-terrorist, and the world (This is me saying that the spoiler is over).



The Resident Evil: Degeneration special DVD and Blu-ray releases are slated for December 17, 2008 in Japan and December 27, 2008 in North America. For loyal aficionados of the Resident Evil game series, this movie is definitely a must. It is the movie which will conclude the game series (...or not. You will know once you've watched it), just like what the Final Fantasy Advent Child movie did.

The Echo: A Filipino Adapted Horror Film

Again another Milestone that we Filipinos should be proud of. This time an original Filipino Horror Movie entitled "Sigaw", which directly translates to "Scream" in English has won about a handful of awards seen in their The Echo Official WebSite ( http://echothemovie.com/ ) has now been adapted by USA to "The Echo".

The Crypt Keeper is literally a zombie who is the voice by John Kassir from the famous (and maybe infamous) Horror anthology back in the 90's "Tales from the Crypt".

The Crypt Keeper is a zombie(undead corpse) of some old guy who likes to tell stories with moral values but with bloody and unexpected consequences. Crypt Keeper is ghoulishly hilarious and undyingly lovely.

Crypt Keeper is insanely popular back then, this is a proof!



He is the walking Kama Sutra, His moves are to die for.



I wonder how much blood can mosquitos suck on Crypt Keeper?

Each episodes he dresses up relevant to the theme of the story. He also makes witty and hilarious comments and gestures that are certainly to die for... and then there is his signature laugh.
