I'm just glad that this film will not entirely be presented in a P.O.V. perspective. That was the biggest concern I had at the start of watching the trailer. Luckily it is just a part of the entirety of the film. Although not really new, I liked at how the film focused on these two good policemen who got into a big mess because they simply did their jobs.

I'd buy the drama of this film as it is the real dangers that some of our valiant men in uniforms are facing. The sad part about it that in order for some policemen to preserve their jobs, family and life, they turn a blind eye on the crooks that plague the society, the various drug cartels. Well, the film does show what will happen if ever one does decide to bust them out. I am interested the "real" life drama of the protagonists of this film will have and will it have a good or tragic end?

There is something fascinating about learning the life of well-known people through biographical films. Some of them inspire, makes us realize, thugs your heart strings, and many more. Then there are those like The Iceman, which is a biopic of a notorious killer.

Although anyone can easily Google or Wikipedia the life of Richard Kuklinski, the Iceman, there is still something special about this film. Well, maybe because I am one of those guys whose into Showtime's Dexter television series, or someone who's generally curious about how did the Iceman lived a double life of a loving family man and a ruthless hired killer at the same time. Well don't get me wrong, I condone the act of murder or any criminal act that disregard human rights, but there is something curious with themes like this. Call it a guilty pleasure. It gives us an idea of a life of someone that we never could be. Not to mention, the movie adaptation of the true story of the Iceman features a cast of great actors. This film is definitely on our must-watch list of 2012.

Horror film fans may argue to whether Paranormal Activity and Insidious are effective and good horror films, but for the rest of the world that loved the two recent horror film titles would probably expect a lot from Sinister. Sinister is a horror film from the same producers that made Paranormal Activity and Insidious, so how does the trailer fairs up with its predecessors?

Sinister's premise is not really authentic, a family moved into a house with a gruesome history which will later haunt their family as well. The only redeeming qualities of horror films under these kinds of caliber and cliche are the scares. A good mix of jump and psychological scares is always a plus in my book and so far, Sinister has some of them. Hope the film would offer something new or has some weird twist, but even if without them I would still see this film being a big fan of horror film and as for someone who liked the Paranormal Activity and Insidious.

Sound of Noise Trailer Impressions: A Musical Wild-Goose Chase

Sound of Noise Trailer was a 2010 Swedish-French comedy-crime film written and directed by Ola Simonsson and Johannes Stjärne Nilsson which premiered on International Critic's Week of the 63rd Cannes Film Festival back in May 18, 2010. Sound of Noise, a film that tells the story of a group of musicians who illegally perform music on objects in the various institutions of a city will finally have a 2012 international film release. The narrative revolves around police officer Amadeus Warnebring, tone-deaf scion of a distinguished musical family, and his attempts to track down a group of six guerilla percussionists whose anarchic public performances are terrorizing the city. The drumming set pieces correspond to an avant-garde score with four hilariously titled movements. Where the short involved the six drummers imaginatively using standard apartment furnishings as their instruments, the feature unleashes them on an unspecified city's civic and cultural institutions. Including an amusing backstory for each of the soberly dressed drummers as well as their nemesis, music-hating investigator Warnebring, the film creates a treat for the eyes and ears from the dull, repetitive sounds of everyday life.

I am not a big music fan myself but I find the trailer for the Sound of Noise to be fresh and interesting. This film intrigues me as the protagonists of the film dared to defy the convention, to exercise their definition of the highest form of musical art. I haven't seen this unique mixed of crime, comedy and music, and I think Sound of Noise will be the first I'll ever see one put into film.

Not everyone has the opportunity to watch international films, or even know that a good one has been released. Now thanks to the internet, we now are able so. I personally don't know a thing about this, not until now as I do this post and I can say I am pretty much intrigued on this cat-and-mouse musical film. I laughed a bit on how they made music on that poor patient, but we all know that what they are doing is potentially acts of crime (if not terrorism). But when a film makes one forget that what they are doing is wrong and makes you cheer for them, it has to mean that the film is doing something good, right? I don't mind reading subtitles and I don't think it doesn't take away from the film.

When I first watched this trailer I really thought that this was some sort of a comedy or dark comedy, but it is not. Thin Ice is a crime drama film about a con-man picking the wrong choices and ultimately suffers the consequences.



So what about the trailer? It generally gives us what the film is aboutm but doesn't spoil what will happen next and how will the protagonist (assuming that it is Kinnear) get out of the mess he unfortunately created himself. The whole concept itself of a con-man chasing after a violin is probably gave the lighter vibe to it and thus the trailer somehow using a more upbeat trailer song, which in turn made me presuppose that this is a comedy. But since the element of death and blackmail is added to the mix, this may very well game punch to this film, making it a potential intelligently written crime film.
