Smiley Film Trailer Review

Well this is... refreshing? A new serial killer who now wears a smiley mask. The only question is Will it be more like the supernatural "Candy Man", or much more grounded to the truth like the "Scream" killer? Well basing from the genre it falls under, it obviously falls in the latter.

Smiley 2012 film about an internet urban legend named Smiley comes true

Well, we haven't seen that much slasher films and if ever this new Smiley becomes popular, then we may have ourselves a new series to follow. I just don't know if that's good or bad, but seeing the trend of films in Hollywood for the last decade or so, it is not that inconceivable. I just find it amusing how can a lighthearted emoticon like the smiley can be used as a theme or a mascot for a thriller. The only question is will they actually pull it off?

Urban Legends: The Boyfriend's Death

The Boyfriend's Death is both a cautionary tale and a popular urban legend which warns the youth about engaging in adolescent sexual activities or straying far away from home could be dangerous. How dangerous you ask? This urban legend tells us just how...

"THE BOYFRIEND'S DEATH"

A girl and her boyfriend decided to "have fun" and drove to a very secluded place. As they drive through that place they started "making out". The girl saw some shadowy figure looming outside the car which immediately vanished. This alarmed her a bit so she told her boyfriend about what she saw but the boyfriend just shrugged the idea and continued with their "fooling around".

After they were done, the boyfriend went out to pee. The girl stopped him as she recalls the incident of the looming shadowy figure from before. The boyfriend just laugh at her and still continued to go out to "take a leak". The boyfriend stepped out of the car, saying comfortingly to his girlfriend, "Don't worry, I'll be right back.

She locked the doors and sat restlessly. Minutes passed, her boyfriend has still not shown himself. She shouted and whined "It's not funny! Where are you?". Suddenly a psychotic and scary looking man surprised her at the the side of the door. The crazed looking man kept banging the windshield of the car's door which made her to shout her lungs out. She went to the other side of car but the strange and crazy man vanished. The man appeared at her back and persistently knocks on the windshield of the car. The woman noticed that specs of blood are splattered on the car's window.

The crazy man raised his right hand to show her boyfriend's decapitated head. She screamed as the crazy man laughs like a lunatic. She closed her eyes and puts both her hands to cover her eyes. She wished that it was all just a nightmare, suddenly the laughing and the noise stop. She took her hands off her eyes and saw the crazy man whose now smiling back at her holding the keys to the car on his left hand.

Urban Legends: The Slit-Mouthed Woman

The slit-mouthed woman is an urban legend and myth originated from Japan about a woman mutilated by her husband out of jealousy and returned as a malicious spirit (or demon) committing the same acts done to her. Usually her victims are children. This urban legend (like most Urban Legends)has induced and created a short-lived fear and worries to some concerned individuals, specially to Asian children during the 1970s which is why a movie was produced about the tale of the slit-mouthed woman.

A short fan made news on the slit mouthed or the incident of severed mouth woman in the 1980s. Warning: Very Disturbing because I got disturbed hehehe.

"THE SLIT MOUTHED WOMAN"

There once was a very beautiful and vain woman had a very jealous husband. The jealous husband attacked his wife upon the impression and belief that he was being cuckolded or cheated. what he did was slit the mouth of his wife's beautiful ear from ear to ear screaming "Who will think you're beautiful now?".

The urban legend which is said to originated from the samurai era picks up from that point. The urban legend tells about a woman who has a surgical mask (as people with colds often wear masks for the sake of others in Japan) covering her face was said to roam at night.

Am I beautiful?

"Am I beautiful?"

When she encounters someone (primarily children or college students), she will shyly ask, "Am I beautiful?". If the person answers yes, she will take off her mask and say, "Even like this?" on that point, if the victim answers "No," she will slay them usually with a pair of scissors. If the victim tells her she is pretty a second time, she follows the victim home and slays them in their own doorway, due to the fact that "kirei" (きれい), Japanese for 'pretty,' is a near homophone of "kire" (切れ), the imperative form of "to cut". In other versions of the myth if you reply yes again she will give you a large blood soaked ruby and walk away.

How about now?

"How about now?!?!"

During the seventies, the urban legend went that if the victim answers "You're average", "so-so," or by saying the word "Bryllcreem" three times in a row they will be saved (or can escape) from the wrath of the "kuchisake-onna" (slit-mouthed woman).

Urban Legends: The Licked Hand

THE LICKED HAND

Once there was a a beautiful young girl who lived in a small town just south of Farmersburg. Her parents had to go to town for a while, so they left their daughter home alone, but protected by her dog, which was a very large collie. The parents told the girl to lock all the windows and doors after they had left. And at about 8:00pm the parents went to town. So doing what she was told the girl shut and locked every window and every door. But there was one window in the basement that would not close completely.

Trying as best as she could she finally got the window shut, but it would not lock. So she left the window, and went back upstairs. But just to make sure that no one could get in, she put the dead-bolt lock on the basement door.

Then she sat down had some dinner and decided to go to sleep for the night. Settling down to sleep at about 12:00 she snuggled up with the dog and fell asleep.

But at one point, she suddenly woke up. She turned and looked at the clock...it was 2:30. She snuggled down again wondering what had woken her.....when she heard a noise. It was a dripping sound. She thought that she had left the water running, and now it was dripping into the drain of her sink. So thinking it was no big deal she decided to go back to sleep.

But she felt nervous so she reached her hand over the edge of her bed, and let the dog lick her hand for reassurance that he would protect her. Again at about 3:45 she woke up hearing the dripping sound. She was slightly angry now but went back to sleep anyway. Again she reached down and let the dog lick her hand. Then she fell back to sleep.

At 6:52 the girl decided that she had had enough...she got up just in time to see her parents were pulling up to the house. "Good,"she thought. "Now somebody can fix the sink...'cause I know I didn't leave it running." She walked to the bathroom and there was the collie dog, skinned and hung up on the curtain rod. The noise she heard was its blood dripping into a puddle on the floor. The girl screamed and ran to her bedroom to get a weapon, incase someone was still in the house.....and there on the floor, next to her bed she saw a small note, written in blood, saying: "HUMANS CAN LICK TOO MY BEAUTIFUL."

Urban Legends: The Roommate's Death

The Roommate's Death is a popular urban legend and migratory legend (A legend which is found repeatedly at different places, having the same plot in every case but with place names and/or topographical details tailored to fit the individual site) that has been circulating globally and scaring a lot of people. I will not spoil you anymore here is the story of...

"THE ROOMMATE'S DEATH"

There were two roommates (yes, I know, another college story), Sarah and Megan. Sarah was the theatrical type and loved acting. She was in all the town's plays. Megan was more of a book person, she loved to read and her studies were her first priority.

Anyway, there was a huge play called "Oh, Susannah" that Sarah was in, and it was coming up on Saturday... so every chance that Sarah got, she would practice in the park (that's where she got her inspiration) for hours. Every time, she would beg Megan to go with her, but Megan would stay in the dorm and read.

Well, on Saturday Sarah was a hit. Being the star, she was detained after the play, and got home really late. As she entered, she heard her roommate's rocking chair squeaking in the corner, but couldn't see it, not all the lights were on. Must be waiting for me, Sarah thought. Putting her stuff away, she went back into the main room.

From the corner came a voice. It sounded rather husky, but that wasn't what agitated Sarah.

"Oh, Susannah, don't you cry for me..." came the voice.

"Stop it Megan! Don't give me that crap, okay?" said Sarah.

"Oh, Susannah, don't you cry for me..."

"Stop it! I mean it, Meg!"

"Oh, Susannah, don't you cry for me..."

"Stop!!!!! That's it!!!!" Sarah screamed as she flicked on the room's lights.

Sarah gawked in horror at the sight. Her roommate's body was in the rocking chair, but her head wasn't, her head was on the wall, kept there by a butcher knife. From behind the rocking chair she could hear laughter – maniacal laughter.

"Who's there? Who are you????"

From behind the rocking chair jumped a man, later found out to be the butcher that escaped from the sanitarium in the next town. All the time he was cutting Sarah, he was singing, over and over, "Oh, Susannah, don't you cry for me... I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee."

Pinning Sarah to the wall next to her roommate's head, he screamed, "Now, Susannah, don't you cry for me!!!!"
