They just wanna have fun... Now after that stupid pop culture reference is out of the way. Looper is a another one of those time travel sci-fi films that pits the main character with himself. The usual question in this sort of films is to who, what, when, and how did he end up confronting the version of himself?

Looper 2012 action sci-fi mystery film starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt

The film's main selling feature is the Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis team up. Next would just be the story and the film's Noir setting. I am not really hyped up about the plot, but am curious as to how will the action and mystery element unfold. Not to mention seeing Willis and Levitt in a solid action mystery sci-fi title. Hopefully it would not be as predictable as I initially think of movies of these genres. 2012 is truly shaping to be the year of Sci-Fi action films.

What makes a good animated film? The answer to that is when the said animated film both caters to the entire family. An animated film where both children and adults will find entertaining. This is the case with Dreamwork's Rise of the Guardian.

Rise of the Guardians 2012 animated family movie featuring Sandman, Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy Dreamworks 3D Animation

Most of us grew up hearing stories about various fictitious characters like Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, the Boogeyman, the Sandman, etc. This is probably why most films that includes a take on most of these characters usually warrants our interest, but what more if you put them together and approach them in a completely different perspective? This is where Rise of the Guardians trailer works. I for one am hyped up for this animated film and automatically gets a recommendation from us.

Finally a new sci-fi action trailer that really looks awesome! Yes, I feel genuinely interested in the Total Recall trailer. It is a remake of the 1990's Arnold Schwarzenegger Total Recall film but it feels right.

Total Recall 2012 reboot of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger Collin Farrell as Doug Quaid

I can barely remember scenes from Total Recall, but I have a good idea that it was a complete action fest especially as it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger back then. Total Recall looks awesome back then and now. A different action movie for a different generation. With the special effects technology available for Hollywood's disposal, Total Recall is shaping to be the new action sci-fi blockbuster.

Apartment 143 (Emergo) Film Trailer Review

We have seen the rise of the found footage or mockumentary genre in films. It usually works with horror titles wth a few exception like Chronicle. Paranormal Activity, REC, and Blairwitch Project are probably the best example of which. This time it is the 2011 Spanish horror film Emergo's turn to take the centerstage with its international re-release with a new title Apartment 143 (Emergo).

I personally find this trailer to be interesting. In an industry where there is no REAL authentic idea, I welcome any deviation from what we previously liked on previous mockumentary or found-footage format horror titles. I am curious as to how the hauntings in this film shall progress with no real high expectations that it will end in an epic moment. If you are into Paranormal Activity, Blairwitch Project, Ghost Hunters International, or mockumentaries, then this is worth checking out.

House at the End of the Street Film Trailer Review

The House at the End of the Street trailer has an interesting movie trailer. It kind of reminiscent of Dead Island's trailer that plays backwards but it is really not. On that note, this trailer deserves some recognition.

House at the End of the Street 2012 horror mystery haunted house

A film about how curiosity killed the cat. What's the mystery behind that house at the end of the street? What are these explainable events that are vaguely shown in this trailer. H.A.T.E.S. film has some really intriguing things going on on its trailer. Hopefully it transcends to the actual product. The big question in my mind now to whether the film is really a horror (the supernatural kind) film or a psychological thriller?

People Like Us Film Trailer Review

Let's get the low-down about People Like Us. It is basically a family drama film about half-siblings who never knew each other existed. Since this is is Hollywood rather than immediately confronting this issue head on, we have a whole movie to sit through to watch how the plot "unveils" itself.

People Like Us 2012 drama film starring Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Michelle Pfeiffer

Although I somehow feel the warmth of this family drama film, there is this lingering and disturbing thought that takes away from that experience. It is probably the sexual and incest-innuendos seen in the trailer. That or maybe I am just a twisted movie guy, but when your story is about half-siblings who barely knew each other with the guy finding out and started getting involved with his clueless half-sister, unnecessary emotions like "love" might happen. Unfortunately this is not that traditional brotherly or sister love that one might easily expect from a family movie but a taboo one. "People Like Us" may describe the characters in this film, but does this story really reflect such scenarios in real life? Isn't being straightforward the only solution to remedy this issue? I can somehow imagine possible endings for this film. One spe ciically may address this this issue, but will not cite that it might be so. But that idea might ruin the entire point of this film. Nevertheless, this trailer seems interesting.
