The ABCs of Death Film Trailer Review

Death is inevitable. While to most the concept of death must be avoided as much as possible, others prefer to embrace it... even explore the possibilities. Hollywood has done their share with the fascination of death with the creation of various bloody and gruesome horror titles. 2013 marks a release of another disturbingly good to some with the The ABCs of Death.

I am a horror fan, so this film is very much welcome to my standards, but for the squirmish and the weak of heart, I highly recommend it. 26 directors each given a letter in the alphabet thus creating 26 artistic and gruesome episodes each with their own unique way of how one can die. Like any other anthology, there will be titles that will stand out and there will be some that won't. Specially with 26 titles, there isn't much development like a focused one story film. If you are into blood and gore, curious as to what director from different parts of the globe have in their heads on the concept of death, then it is the perfect film for you.

VHS Film Trailer Review

As a horror fan I can say that I am a bit hyped up with how VHS has to offer. The trailer itself has some pretty interesting and creepy things to show. Given the number of writers and directors working on each of the five titles included in this film, you might either find one or two (if not all five) horror gems in this found footage film.

The presentation might of the film might alienate and even disappoint some film fans, and there is no blaming them for that. The title is VHS so expect that the directors would aim for the lowest quality to emulate what a VHS recorded story would be like. Whether to cut cost productions or sheer artistry, let's just hope that there is a good story to make up for the somewhat "bad" presentation. Most horror fans will surely check this out when they think that there is something special in this film, and there are a lot! What I can make up is that there is a demonic female vampire, a ghostly child, and poltergeists or evil spirits in the basement. There might be more as it is five horror stories rolled into one, but one thing is certain I'll definitely catch this horror film.

Apartment 143 (Emergo) Film Trailer Review

We have seen the rise of the found footage or mockumentary genre in films. It usually works with horror titles wth a few exception like Chronicle. Paranormal Activity, REC, and Blairwitch Project are probably the best example of which. This time it is the 2011 Spanish horror film Emergo's turn to take the centerstage with its international re-release with a new title Apartment 143 (Emergo).

I personally find this trailer to be interesting. In an industry where there is no REAL authentic idea, I welcome any deviation from what we previously liked on previous mockumentary or found-footage format horror titles. I am curious as to how the hauntings in this film shall progress with no real high expectations that it will end in an epic moment. If you are into Paranormal Activity, Blairwitch Project, Ghost Hunters International, or mockumentaries, then this is worth checking out.

Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie is a 2012 comedy film written, produced, directed and primarily stars Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, creators of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. Absurd as it may sound, it is exactly what you are getting, it is literally the movie version of the Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim's comedy surread sketch show in Cartoon Network's Adult Swim Block. So what does this trailer has to offer, or is it even trying?

Comedy is a challenging genre to tackle especially on film. Fall short and feel the wrath of enraged and disappointed movie goers; offer too much to the point of offensive humor and get ready to received accusations of discrimination and racism from both people who watched and didn't even watch it. If you have followed the Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim comedy surreal sketch in Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, then you already know what you are getting, but what about those who haven't?

Coming from someone who haven't seen their humor this trailer made me face palm my self, scrached my head, gin and smile a little which is supposed to be good, I guess? This is the trailer and the best punchlines are not probably even included or previewed here, for what are you paying for if they showed it. But it has some pretty interesting concept, mainly the use of various internet meme like humor. Further investigation behind what the two stars, writers, directors and producers has to offer is their unique form of humor which features satire and anti-humor and basing from this trailer it has plenty of those. I am somewhat intrigue and curious about this comedy film. I am willing to wait for it, whether it is on theaters or home video format.

What about you guys? Are you familiar with Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and their humor? Do you think this is a much awaited film version for the fans of those show? For someone who has no clue about their previous Cartoon Network show, does this trailer want to make you see it? Goon Movie Trailer Review

Goon looks promising as a comedy film. Although the protagonist is your typical generic stupid brute juxtapose to dumb blonde stereotype, he has the heart. This is where it probably shines. Although the book is is based on received mostly mixed reviews, maybe a Hollywood makeover will give the story a successful launch off.

As for the Goon trailer, all I say is that it was awful but decent. Awful in a sense that it generally summarizes the movie and that is a big No! in my book. Decent in a way that although the trailer already spoiled most of the story, it somehow still able to captivate one's attention. How will the protagonist goon eventually become more of an asset as a hockey player rather than just the mindless brawn. With that I can say this trailer is awful and decent as a trailer.
