The Collection Trailer Impressions: Another Ingenious Psycopath Out on a New Brutal Contraption-Filled Killing Spree!

The Collection is a slasher horror film written and directed by Marcus Dunstan along with Patrick Melton for screenplay, which stars Christopher McDonald, Josh Stewart and Erin Way. The Collection is a 2012 sequel to The Collector released back in 2009 which got generally positive reviews and as the Saw film series ends another one begins. Let's check out this potential new horror film franchise in the making.

Plot / Synopsis

Arkin (Josh Stewart) escapes with his life from the vicious grips of “The Collector” during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena (Emma Fitzpatrick) to his “Collection.” Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector’s booby trapped hide out and save Elena from his sadistic rituals.

I wasn't fortunate enough to watch the first film this second one picks off, but hey it is still not too late right? I'm a bit squirmish at times but I think I'll give the first one a try first since the same characters in the first film will be on this second gore-fest of a slasher horror flick.

So what can we make out of the trailer? Well, luckily that this new mass murderer is just like the "beloved" Jigsaw from the Saw series. He is ingenious and good at creating various deadly contractions. They can't fully show the gore in this film and that's the edge of these kinds of films... the shock value. But is there anything new that can shock the slasher horror film fans? Well that is what The Collection should at least pull off in a way. In order for it to become the next Saw franchise it has to offer something more and not to become like a drained out cow milked to the bones like what other producers did with their film series.

The Iceman is an upcoming crime drama film from Millenium Films under the direction of Ariel Vromen, screenplay by Ariel Vromen and Morgan Land, which stars Michael Shannon as "Richard Kuklinski", Chris Evans, Winona Ryder, James Franco and Ray Liotta. The Iceman first premiered at Venice Film Festival in August 2012 and later at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. The Iceman is a biographical film of one America's most notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski. Let's check out what this biopic has in store for us.

There is something fascinating about learning the life of well-known people through biographical films. Some of them inspire, makes us realize, thugs your heart strings, and many more. Then there are those like The Iceman, which is a biopic of a notorious killer.

Although anyone can easily Google or Wikipedia the life of Richard Kuklinski, the Iceman, there is still something special about this film. Well, maybe because I am one of those guys whose into Showtime's Dexter television series, or someone who's generally curious about how did the Iceman lived a double life of a loving family man and a ruthless hired killer at the same time. Well don't get me wrong, I condone the act of murder or any criminal act that disregard human rights, but there is something curious with themes like this. Call it a guilty pleasure. It gives us an idea of a life of someone that we never could be. Not to mention, the movie adaptation of the true story of the Iceman features a cast of great actors. This film is definitely on our must-watch list of 2012.
