That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime or Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken is a 2018 an anime based from the Japanese light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah; serialized online between 2013 and 2016 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. The series first aired on October 2, 2018 on Tokyo MX and is available for the global audience legally through Crunchyroll and Funimation. The series is a new addition to the ever popular and growing isekai genre which literally translates to "different world". This time we have a normal human being who got transferred or reincarnated after meeting his demise on the human world. From the title itself, he got reincarnated into one powerful slime. 37-year old average salary man Minami Satoru met an untimely death by stabbing when he attempted to rescue his subordinate from a random attack from a ruffian. As he slowly whittle away, his last words are seemingly transformed into statistics for a new character sheet in a video game, mainly an RPG. When he awakens, he found himself not being able to see, hear, speak, and move like a human. He has been reincarnated into a slime. All is not lost as he has two pretty "useful" (more like overpowered) skills he can use, the ability [Predator] that can analyze, seize, and evolve an opponent’s abilities usually after observing (more on consuming) it, and the [Great Sage] ability where he talks to a disembodied voice that seemingly has every explanation about the world he has now been reincarnated into.




He then meets a catastrophe-level monster called “Storm Dragon Veldora ” sealed within the same cave where he is in and befriends him. He then forms a pact or a promise to help him break out of the seal, even if it means "temporarily" storing the legendary dragon deep within his body while the [Great Sage] makes its attempts. Before doing so, Veldora formed a pact by naming each other as a sign of friendship and mutual respect. Veldora received the name "Veldora Tempest", while the storm dragon gave our main protagonist the name name “Rimuru Tempest”.


A new world opens to Rimuru as he sets foot (more like bounced with his gelatinous with his slime body) outside the cave.

As of the making of this post, (October 9, 2018) I have already seen the first two episodes of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime 2018 anime which made me follow it up with the manga and I ended it with Volume 44. IF I became more impatient, I might as well pick up the light novel. Yes, it is that good for me. It is comparable to Overlord in a sense that the main protagonist is an overpowered monster, but they have a few key differences and that is what makes both these titles special in their own different way.


Rimuru is also a very charismatic leader and to just avoid spoilers. Great things will come to charismatic leaders and I will leave it at that. While in Overlord, Ainz Ooal Gown is a scheming roleplayer and is surrounded by diabolical evils, Rimuru on the other hand is more on the benevolent side. In this manner, he is falls on the standard good guy trophe which might be common, but after a while, it is a breathe of fresh air from the awesome "Overlord" and the usual shallow overpower isekai series like those series which should not be named. There is also this new 2018 anime which depicts Goblins as savage beasts which is the complete contrast of the goblins in this series. We'll get to that anime later on along the line. What I can say as a fan of Overlord, this could very well fill in the gap left by Season 3 and while we wait for season 4 (if ever one will be announced). Ig you are not a fan or even familiar with Overlord (why?), then this is a highly recommended anime to check out.

Plot / Synopsis

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 offers over 72 playable characters making it largest cast in the Ultimate Ninja series. The game's fighting system has now been modified with the Awakening Mode potentially being possible to be used at anytime during a fight. The player can still choose two characters to assist the player's character in battle (adventure and versus). The assisting characters now can also aid the playable one through the use of two different types of combos. Several arenas have become interactive, making the player automatically lose a fight if they leave a specific areas. Additionally, the game will offer a hack and slash mode in which the player controls a single character that has to battle a series of enemies ala Dynasty Warriors.

The story mode will be similar to the ones from Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 rather than the previous game Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations as it will feature boss battles that include quick time events and require the use of strategies to defeat the opponent. Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3's plot will start following the ending of Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and will initially focus on the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's attack to Konohagakure. From then the game will also cover the events from the Naruto Shippuden's fourth great ninja world war adapting most episodes aired on television by the time the game is released. Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 will also include the "Ultimate Decision Mode" which will give the option to change the result of the battles, resulting in alternative storylines.

I bought the original Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 for Xbox 360 and it is both good as a single player adventure RPG game and a multiplayer fighting game. although it doesn't require you to input complex commands ala Street Fighter, Tekken, or mortal Kombat, I ca say that Ninja Storm 2 was a good game and worthy of its price that time. And now Storm Generation?




Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm is a complete game itself. It is mainly focused on the Naruto Shippuden story from Naruto's return to Konoha all the way to the destruction of Konoha and the attack of Akatsuki. The first game provided a good number of hours as you plow through from one arc (from the anime/manga) to another. It was a bit waste though as when the game was released that time, Japan already finished airing the end of Akatsuki arc, and the the beginning of the Fourth Ninja War. So gamers who also are resourceful netizens have already seen the anime or read the manga which was miles ahead from the game, but it was still an entertaining experience to unfold the story in video game format. Not to mention playing as Jiraiya, Madara, and Killer Bee.




Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generation game trailer is impressive. Impressive in a way that it features more character than its predecessor. Impressive that it has so many new features like a never before seen anime scenes intended for the game, an extensive online multiplayer match up which was lacking in the first game, and the mere thought of using most of the characters in the first generation of Naruto (Naruto as a kid). If you are not a follower of the Naruto franchise or have bought the first game, all of these talk might all be confusing, if not strange. But if ever you decide to buy a Naruto game, this would be it. It doesn't only feature all playable characters from the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 game but also includes a standalone story (not seen in both the anime and the manga counterpart), additional characters like the Kages, and characters from both past and present. As fans of any of the Naruto franchise, you'll sure get excited to see some new playable characters not included in the Ninja Storm 2 and Naruto's new form where he already mastered the nine-tails chakra.

Rurouni Kenshin is a 2012 live action movie adaptation of the popular manga and anime series "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" or simply "Rurouni Kenshin", or popularly known in the US as Samurai X. When I first heard that Warner Bros was behind the movie adaptation of the highly acclaimed samurai series, I was very dubious and skeptical about it at first. Luckily that impression was changed after watching the Rurouni Kenshin live-action movie's first teaser trailer.

A live-action film adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin was announced on June 28, 2011. Produced by Warner Bros., the film will be directed by Keishi Ōtomo which stars Takeru Satoh (played the main character Ryotaro Nogami in Kamen Rider Den-O) as Kenshin Himura, Emi Takei as Kaoru, Yuu Aoi as Megumi Takani, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara, Taketo Tanaka as Myojin Yahiko, Koji Kikkawa as Jine Udo, Yosuke Eguchi as Hajime Saitou, and Teruyuki Kagawa as Kanryuu Takeda. The film is scheduled for a August 25, 2012 release, and is slated for an internationally release later on as the Rurouni Kenshin a.k.a. Samurai X is a very good anime series.

Japan is known as the home of manga and anime. The Rurouni Kenshin series is considered to be one of the best anime series that came from Japan, and has since been released worldwide as Samurai X. Making a live action film of something as nostalgic as the Rurouni Kenshin series is guaranteed to receive both positive and negative criticism.



Rurouni Kenshin holds a very high nostalgic value and is probably the main reason why fans of the anime or manga series might have mixed reactions over it. Basing from the feedback received by the first teaser trailer for the live action film, it is looking good for the Rurouni Kenshin Japanese film adaptation. Thank the samurai gods that it is made in Japan. Various U.S. entertainment companies had a bad habit and established an awful reputation of adapting various Japanese series and "Americanizing" them. Just look at what they did with poor pronunciation of names and lame voice acting after dubbing an anime series in question, and even completely bastardizing a franchise just like what they did with Dragonball Evolution. So I cannot be blamed when my expectations plummeted to hell when I heard that an American company like Warner Bros. is responsible for making a live-action movie adaptation for Rurouni Kenshin. Luckily, the Studio is only responsible for the distribution and funding of the film and it is all Japanese to put it to words. This doesn't mean that everyone will welcome a live-action film of the animated series or the comics they grew up with. But even so, this is one train that cannot be stopped. I for one am curious to how they will put to film the epic story and romance of Kenshi and Kaoru. I have followed the Kamen Rider Den-O tokusatsu series and I can say that Takeru Satoh is a nice pick to play as the reformed Hitokiri Battousai. I for one am excited to get my hands in this live action movie adaptation of Samurai X.
