Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is a 20th Century Fox and Toei Animation upcoming 2013 Japanese animated movie directed by Masahiro Hosoda with screenplay by Yūsuke Watanabe with Dragon Ball original author Akira Toriyama himself which features the voices of Masako Nozawa for Goku, Ryō Horikawa (Vegeta), Toshio Furukawa (Piccolo), Koichi Yamadera (Bills), and Masakazu Morita (Wiss) slated for a March 30, 2013 Japanese theatrical release. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is the 14th Dragon Ball Z movie, seventeen years after last being the tenth anniversary movie Dragon Ball: The Path to Power back in 1996. Plot / Synopsis

Bills, the God of Destruction tasked with maintaining some sort of balance in the universe, wakes up after a long sleep.


Hearing rumors of a Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza, Bills tracks down the warrior, Goku. Ecstatic over the new challenge, Goku ignores King Kai's advice and battles Bills, but is overwhelmed and defeated. Bills leaves, but Goku, knowing of the threat Bills presents to the universe, takes it upon himself and his friends to find a way to stop Bills before all is lost.

Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball is the definitive manga and anime of those who grew up around/during the late 80's all the way to 90's. With countless spin-offs from original video animations (OVA) to video games, the legacy of Dragon Ball continually lived on after its conclusion. After seventeen year since the last film, a new canon Dragon Ball Z film is set to be released on March 30, 2013. So what's new?

This film is not set or has anything to do with the Dragon Ball GT series which by the way was non-canon or not part of the Dragon Ball canon from Akira Toriyama's manga. So yes, Super Saiya-jin 4 will be Goku's ultimate form here. On a related note ceck out the press statement released by Toei Animation back on July 17, 2012:

"The global phenomenon Dragon Ball is being made into a movie using Toei Animation’s latest technology, consistently realized as a Toriyama work, with the original author Akira Toriyama himself deeply involved from the script stage for the first time. An episode from between the animation series “Z” and “GT”, or in other words from the blank decade between the end of the battle with Majin Buu in chapter 517 of the manga and chapter 518, will be depicted for the first time.

Such well-known and charming characters as Krillin, Piccolo, and Vegeta will all make an appearance. A new story in the official history of Dragon Ball is born, neither a spin-off nor a side-story, one that can be enjoyed by both children and parents, manga fans and anime fans."

Akira Toriyama posted a brief comment on the official website saying:

"Actually, it's the first time I've been involved deeply in the production of animation and scriptwriting. I've forgotten many things because it had been a while, but as expected of the original author, I was soon able to get the tempo back. This movie will have the original atmosphere and a little bit of modern flavor, so I believe it will be a wonderful entertainment just like old times!"

Who will stand against this new story given the synopsis preview of the film? How will they beat Bills? That is what fans of the Dragon Ball series is asking for. Man of Steel Trailer Impressions: Zack Snyder's 2013 Superman Origin Film

Man of Steel is an upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures, Syncopy Films, and DC Entertainment super hero film directed by Zack Snyder, story by Christopher Nolan and (screenplay) David S. Goyer which stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, and Russell Crowe; slated for a June (Summer) 2013 US theatrical release. Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Jonathan and Martha Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet of Krypton. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero named Superman to protect the Earth and its people.

Man of Steel Film Trailer Review

The success of Christopher Nolan's Batman film series signaled the creation of an even more serious Hollywood take on Superman's story. Summer of 2013 marks the year when will see the Man of Steel fly again. This new Superman film will be under the wing of the same director who brought us 300 and Watchmen, Zack Snyder with the aid of Christopher Nolan as the man behind the story and producer in bringing Comics' Superman originally by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster back to the big screen.

The Man of Steel will be another origin story of one of the most well-known DC Comics superhero of all time, Superman. The trailer for the Man of Steel film looks very promising besides the fact that Nolan and Snyder will be two well-recognized people working behind this 2013 superhero film. A more compelling origin tale of Superman with amazing visuals and hopefully better story, acting and presentation than what we have been presented before with past Superman television series, animated shows, and past films. We here at CMAQUEST are particularly looking forward to what this potential new film series (ala Nolan's Dark Knight series) has in store for us when it hits the theaters on the Summer of 2013.

Street Fighter X Mega Man Game Trailer Review

It has been a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship between Capcom and its fans. Wrong business choice through the years like milking some very old titles dry with re-release and unnecessary downloads, not to mention neglecting some of its highly in-demand (by fans) titles has made Capcom achieve this notorious status to most of its Megaman fans. This is really quite a surprise to have a new Megaman game for free on the PC on the blue bomber's 25th birthday, but why only in PC?

Checking out both the official Capcom Unity's Official Megaman Page and its official Capcom Unity's Youtube Game Reveal Post you can see a couple of disgruntled and unimpressed Megaman fans, but generally most are happy with this new 8-bit style crossover with Megaman and Street Fighter. The funny part is that according to Capcom'Unity's official blog, this is an idea pitched to them by Singapore superfan Seow Zong Hui, so generally Capcom may never had something for its Megafans on its 25th anniversary. Now you know who to really thank with this new Megaman game. Another good point to raise is why only release Street Fighter X Mega Man for PC? Capcom can also release this for free on XBox Live or the Playstation Network as an arcade title, and if they like (which is highly probable) they can later turn it into a purchasable content, that is what Capcom has been notorious for right? It was only a matter of time before the Paranormal Activity gets parodied in a similar way as how the Scary Movie did it and that is what 2013 has in store for us with A Haunted House starring Marlon Wayans. This time we'll be thrown in the found footage set universe of The Paranormal Activity gone nuts, but is it any good?

What else do you expect from a Wayan Brothers film parody? If you have seen other film parodies this two brothers either starred, written, or produced by then you have a good idea on what A Haunted House has in store for you. Looking for a deep moving and plot-driven film, then sorry your princess is in another castle as this has always been the signature feel of parody films. I just find it hilarious to look at familiar scenes from some of the most engaging contemporary horror flicks bastardized by another parody film.
