Plot / Synopsis

THE HUNTER is the story of Martin, a skilled and ruthless mercenary sent into the Tasmanian wilderness on a hunt for a tiger believed to be extinct. Hired by an anonymous company that wants the tiger's genetic material, Martin arrives in Tasmania posing as a scientist. He proceeds to set up base camp at a broken-down farmhouse, where he stays with a family whose father has gone missing. Usually a loner, Martin becomes increasingly close to the family; however, as his attachment to the family grows, Martin is led down a path of unforeseen dangers, complicating his deadly mission.

The Hunter Film Trailer Review

There is something very interesting about the unknown, about mythical things, species that ceased to exist. This is probably why it is interesting to check out a serious film that somehow plays on such myths and rumors. The big question is how would they make a film that piques the curiosity of people about something that once was while having an engaging and engrossing effect. Well The Hunter seems to pull that off (for me that is).

After watching the trailer for The Hunter, it made me search for the extinct Tasmanian Tiger and to me the creature was very ordinary, although the thought that one or two of its kind might still exist would be very interesting. A film that features the beauty of Tasmania and the myth/rumor of the existence of the Tasmanian Tiger is what this film uses, but we all know that it is more of the mystery andthe characters hunting it. The film was aptly named "The Hunter" right? The trailer looks good and I don't mind catching it once its out this 2012.
