The Campaign Film Trailer Review

We have seen Hollywood tackle various political themes, but this time it would be on a more lighter side of things... or is it? When Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis plays as two rival politician in a comedy, you are definitely in for a ride.

We all know that politics is dirty, but it will get even dirtier with Ferrel and Galifianakis. These two politicians will stop at nothing to outplay each other to ultimately win the votes of the people, but at what cost? There are a few scenes shown in the trailer that made me laugh. one in particular is how Ferrel's character does this traditional politician's talk on who are the country's back bone. It was funny because I have seen that same junk over and over again. Absurd and preposterous at a comedic level, in some way this is the reality of politics. Do they really want to serve the people or their ego? But let's not get so serious with these, hopefully The Campaign can both make us (ordinary cistizens) laugh and give some of those in "higher position" some really valuable lessons and pointers on serving the people.

The Lady Film Trailer Review

There is something so special and admirable with people who can sacrifice their own lives just for the sake of others, their family, and their country. This is probably why most biographical films of some of the world's greatest people are so fulfilling and inspiring to watch. This time we are now able to know Burma's iconic political figure, Aung San Suu Kyi.

I am not a big fan of drama, and usually prefers the more jolly comedic, action, adventure or fantasy film titles. So when I saw the trailer for The Lady and was in awe as how good it looks, that means that it did something special there. Even in the trailer, the film featured great cinematography and superb acting by the actors. I personally got curious about this Burmese political head, and will probably check this out sometime.

Comedy is probably one of the hardest genre for Hollywood. It walks a very thing line. Sacha Baron Cohen's past comedy films walked that line. Most liked his style of humor, others received it poorly, while others are offended. This time he is back with another satirical form of humor as he plays the role of someone that everyone hates, an oppressive dictator.

Personally speaking, I somehow find myself smiling at a few scenes in this trailer. Hopefully the film offers a more laugh out loud experience than its trailer. Although some humor featured in the trailer are very traditional and bordering to slapstick level, it somehow gets away with it. Let us just see on how well America received this kind of comedy? can they laugh at themselves or at someone who has the status that caused their nation great pain? Well, guess that is what we will find out come May 2012.
