Marvel's hit comics to television animation adaptation of a group of "mutants" fighting for a cause and society's acceptance was one of the most popular animation and action series back in the 90's. If you still haven't remember it yet maybe this will refresh your minds:
What makes it different from other "cartoon shows" back in the 90's are its serious themes which includes discrimination, racism, acceptance, greed, hope, love, and decisions. One of the classic which has been one of the inspirations behind X-Men Movies. Couple of years later, the X-Men has been revived via X-Men evolutions which shows the history of the formation of the X-Men, etc. The said series has a lighter theme to it mainly targeting the younger audience but in its last episodes shifts to a more serious tone. This year 2007, the iconic team of the X-Men returns with a new leader, through Wolverine.

The new X-Men animated series starts with the disappearance of Professor X and Jean Grey making Cyclops(Scott Summers) leave the X-Men because of depression. The X-Men disbanded, after sometime, the campaign against mutants heightens thus making the mutants, through the leadership of the Brotherhood retaliate and fight for their survival and supremacy versus the humans. The Brotherhood of Mutants will stop at nothing to get what they desire. Professor X from the future telephatically contacted Wolverine ordering him to once again form the X-Men to stop the Sentinel Project and the Brotherhood from future catastrophic outcomes. This series will hopefully bring back the 90's fan up to their hopes again for a better X-Men viewing experience.
Here is the opening theme of the "Wolverine and the X-Men" Series:
