Grave Encounters 2 Film Trailer Review

It's been a while since a horror film scared me through and through. After Paranormal Activity, I started looking for films under the similar genre, the found footage style of filming. In the quest to look for new horror title that would actually scare the hell out me (being a horror fan and all), I happen to stumble upon 2011's Grave Encounters. Saw the trailer and was intrigued. I watched it earlier this year and found it actually entertaining. Really reminded me of the Blairwitch Project and a reality show that I've seen earlier in 2011 Ghost Hunters International. The found footage style of horror have become horror film's latest trend as observed in the success of the Paranormal Activity film franchise. So it is only natural for Grave Encounters to have a shot at a sequel right?

This time it is the audience of the fake reality television's turn to explore the haunted halls of the old psychiatric hospital that preyed on the crew on the first film. Being skeptics and fans of the first film, a group of film student embark on this quest biting off more than they could chew. Well, basing from this trailer, the hospital is really haunted. Well, DUH?!? If it isn't, then what a disappointing sequel would this film be. But good that they delivered. Well hopefully there are more scarier stuff than what is seen on this trailer. If I remembered correctly, the first film's trailer featured this particular scary moment in the film which took me when watching the actual film. Well, hopefully I'm wrong but the nurse seen in this trailer is just like that. Well, I thank this trailer for saving me a jump scare. Hopefully they will also deliver on their promise of double the everything. Please Grave Encounters 2, don't be the lame sequel that I dread when t comes to horror film sequels. If you like the found footage genre, horror, the first Grave Encounters, then this is a must. If you haven't checked the first one, try doing so to check what you're missing. I personally would be looking forward to see this sequel.

Paranormal Activity 4 Film Trailer Review

Get ready for another Paranormal Activity! Well this is not the first time that a horror film has dragged this long. Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw, and Halloween are perfect examples of that. The question is will this be the final Paranormal Activity?

It seems not to be the case as this film seems to focus on the neighbors now. Uhm... is it me or this seems to be unnecessary. It seems like they are just milking the franchise now, well that has been mostly the observations for movies that have a max of two sequels, but Paranormal Activity 4 is obviously doing that. Rather than continue and tell the story of what may have happened to the sisters and the child in the first three films, the film goes to the neighbors house to share their horror. Well, we don't have anything yet to work with, but let's just hope that this new family will have some solid connection and is pivotal to this started to drag out horror film franchise.
