Since some of the most popular novels have already been made to film and others have successfully finished its film franchise, it is now time for The Hunger Games to take the spotlight. Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, sixteen year-old Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson) and the suspicious help of a fellow Tribute, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

A couple of weeks back, we reviewed the first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games and what promise it holds. Finally the official trailer for The Hunger Games is finally out and here is the our trailer review for The Hunger Games.



In a post-apocalyptic distant future where the world would rather sacrificed a number children or teenagers to avoid countless of lives wasted in wars, comes the general plot of this film. Fans of the books may probably know the workings of this novel inside-out, but if the film wants to build up a hype and attract more film fans, the marketing team has got to make some pretty interesting trailer and that is what the Hunger Games official trailer has pulled off. Engaging musical scoring... check!; a pretty and good actors playing on it... check!; showing the core concept of the film without spoiling to much... check!. So it got everything covered for a good trailer. This is really shaping up to be a good film series with competitive acting, drama and action elements. I haven't read the books but it has given me the impression that it will be a good film, if not a good movie adaptation of the similarly popular novel.

Safe House Trailer Impressions: A High Octane Espionage Action Film Starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds

Safe House is an action film slated for a February 2012 release starring "The" Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. That first statement is already enough to reel you in and watch what Safe House is All about. Let's all sink our teeth on it now shall we?

Plot and Synopsis

Washington plays the most dangerous renegade from the CIA, who comes back onto the grid after a decade on the run. When the South African safe house he's remanded to is attacked by mercenaries, a rookie operative (Reynolds) escapes with him. Now, the unlikely allies must stay alive long enough to uncover who wants them dead.

For the past year, Matt Weston has been frustrated by his inactive, backwater post in Cape Town. A "housekeeper" who aspires to be a full-fledged agent, the loyal company man has been waiting for an opportunity to prove himself. When the first and only occupant he's had proves to be the most dangerous man he's ever met, Weston readies for duty.

Tobin Frost has eluded capture for almost a decade. One of the best ops men that the CIA's known, the ex-intelligence officer has given up assets and sold military intel to anyone with cash since he turned. From trading secrets to North Korea to aiding splinter cells, the damage he's done to the U.S. is immeasurable. And he's now back on the reservation with a secret.

As soon as Frost is brought in for debriefing, mercenaries come and tear apart Weston's safe house. Barely escaping, the unlikely partners must discover if their attackers have been sent by terrorists or someone on the inside who will kill anyone standing in the way. Now it's up to Weston to figure out who he can trust before they're both eliminated from the game.

It has been a while since we've last seen Denzel Washington do what he does best, superb acting on an action film. After two years, he is finally back with a new espionage film together with a more contemporary actor Ryan Reynolds. This might be another espionage themed film but what will probably make film fans excited is the Denzel-Ryan team up.



Well for the trailer I say it summarizes the entire film in it. Most cases I consider it to be a big taboo but this is an exception to action films. What attracts action film fans are the car chases, fighting sequences, and the conspiracy and the plot of who is behind it all. Seeing both great actors sharing the same screen is already a fans dream come true, but besides that what makes this a promising film is the superb acting and the interesting plot. What will happen to Reynolds character who finally gets what he wished for with so many things added to the mix? What is this secret that Denzel's character know that made him surrender after years of hiding? That is what the general hype that this film is cashing on and it works. This is definitely on my list of the most anticipated film for 2012.

Snow White and the Huntsman Trailer Impressions: All Hail the Queen?

Snow White and the Huntsman is a very promising fantasy adventure film with a fresh, more grittier ad darker take on the beloved children's classic, the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Slated for a June 2012 release, will Snow White and the Huntsman, another darker Hollywood take on an acclaimed fairy tale be a good one or not? Let's find out.

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Charlize Theron) out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White's beauty and power. The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

There have been various film incarnations of the fairy tale of Snow White but that didn't stopped Hollywood from making another one. This time, a fresh new take on the story of the girl whose skin is as white as snow gets a fresh new darker take in the same sense as Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Red Riding Hood (2011). Catering more on the adult market such films have so much expectations and so much to loose. What does the trailer say about this darker film based on a fairy tale?



Right off the bat, let me say that this trailer looks promising. Who would have thought that "that" seemingly awkward female protagonist from that indescribable film (not in a good way) called Twilight, would actually be even considered as the fairest of them all. Well hopefully we don't get that awkward acting on this film. Glad it is not just her but the Mighty ehr... Huntsman is in it as well. So we know that the action part is already covered. And then we have Miss Charlize Theron! We know how wicked that witch is (well in the story), but this time Charlize gives her a whole lot more justice by making her as bad to the bones. We already know what will happen to this story but the journey going towards that finale is what picques people's curiosity. Besides the "Tron: Legacy"-ish type of sound playing on the background and that Kristen Stewart. I have nothing else to complain about Snow White and the Huntsman.

The Inkeepers Trailer Impressions: Please Don't Go Down Into the Basement?

The Inkeepers is a 2012 horror film set in another haunted location that will likely to spook movie goer come February 2012. It is written, edited and directed by Ti West; Distributed by Dark Sky Films, and primarily stars Kelly McGillis, Pat Healy and Sara Paxton. The Innkeepers trailer looks like a decent horror film basing solely on this trailer. It provides a nice sense of mystery to how and what could possibly transpire inside this haunted inn on its last few days and the unfortunate fate of the people who dared to explore it. The trailer uses this nice classic music to give it this spooky vibe. Nice spooky effects but we hope it doesn't give just provides jump scares but authentic psychological horror. Will it be a good horror film? Well, that is the question. The trailer is crossing a fine line between decent and a mediocre What do you think about this trailer? Chronicle Trailer Impressions: A Fresh Take on Super Powers, Heroes and Villains

Chronicle is a fresh take on the super hero genre. Peter's uncle reminded him that with great powers comes great responsibility, but what if there wasn't any authority to remind one once he gets that powers. No, Chronicle is not a Marvel or Spiderman film, but as how it looks like, this sci-fi found footage film scheduled for a February 2012 release looks kick ass!

There is a certain charm that a found footage format film has that film fans would either love or hate. Movie goers might hate it because of its amateurish and low budget-look with occasional shaky camera effect; while others love it because of its somewhhat more grounded to reality effect and projection. The 2012 Chronicle movie uses the found footage format usually seen applied in various horror flicks like Paranormal Activity, Blairwitch Project, REC, etc.



The Chronicle has a pretty interesting and intriguing trailer. Some of us may have a wild fantasy of having super powers, but what happens when we finally have it? Chronicle which can very well be alternately called the "chronicles of having super powers" addresses that issues. To what could give them these so called powers and how it would all end when their friendship and sanity are put to the test are the two main selling point of this film.

Interesting and Intriguing Web Episodes: Untitled Jersey City Project Impressions

Youtube is continually growing to be a global phenomenon thanks to various people and companies contributing quality video uploads for twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. I am a big fan of watching shows on Youtube and various web episodes or exclusive online series. Everytime I stumble upon something interesting, I can't help but to talk and give my two cents about it. One particular web series comprising of eight short episodes piqued my interest and curiosity, the Untitled Jersey City Project. It has some familiar faces (actors) and good acting. It comprises of short episodes which usually runs under three minutes are fragments of a much larger story. It has a unique and unconventional phasing which makes you ask for more. What happens next and what happened before that? This is what makes it interesting, intriguing and compelling to watch.

The interesting part about the short web series is that you don't need to start watching it from the very first episode. Here is episode two and you'll see how fragmented it seems and how intriguing it can get.

The Untitled Jersey City Project is a nice teaser or hype builder to whatever mainstream series it might become in the future. Right from the very start, it doesn't sugar coat that it is a unique experiment of an entertainment concept which is a television drama. When you managed to watch the entirety of all eight episodes of the Untitled Jersey City Project, tell us your thoughts and suggestion about this web series and potential television series in the making?

After twelve long years, the Marvel vs Capcom fighting game series finally made its third comeback with Marvel vs Capcom 3, or simply MVC3. With some familiar playable characters from previous installments with a roster of new ones, MVC3 got generally positive reviews from gamers and critics alike.

But who would have thought that there would be another Marvel vs Capcom game just nine months. What the last one took twelve years tomake and now it just took Capcom less than a year?
